Free Music Notes for 1 Giant LeapFree Music Review: Spiritual Awakening Hit: 5 Stars
WOW!!! If you are the least bit spiritual then you will fall right into this CD with no problems at all, and if you are not, you will before you finish listening to this. The music spans the globe reflecting how other cultures express their spirituality and touches something way deep down inside and makes you think much deeper than the surface of things. It is the companion to the DVD and I can't imagine having one without the other.I play this CD contantly and it always brings me a sense of calm, and happiness yet with a touch of sadness, only because I wish everyone could listen and have a similar experience. If everyone listened to this music, I think our world would be a better place. Yes, simple as that.
Free Music Review: I can't sum up how I feel in this title alone. Hit: 5 Stars
I fell in love with this CD while it played over the PA in a record store, and I bought it two weeks later. After giving it a good listen I was compelled to send these guys an email, telling them how much I loved the CD and what it stands for. I am even flying to LA to see their presentation of the documentary. NO MUSICIAN (or group) HAS EVER MOVED ME TO DO THAT BEFORE. If you like Waterbone, you need to buy this CD. If you have heard other electronic-fused world music and it hasn't quite rubbed you the right way, give this a try. You will not be disappointed. If you allow it, this album creates a connection between you and the origins of it's music times ten.
Free Music Review: one small step for humankind Hit: 5 Stars
I first heard the Maxxi Jazz/Robbie Willams track in a record store, and thought it was interesting. I looked it up and found it had a lot of people on it I already listen to, so I thought what the hell... I bought it. It melds the best of 'world music' with excellent production and superb performances. Highlights are: the Baaba Maal tracks, and the amazing Stipe/Asha track. If you like any of the artists listed on the cover, I suggest you listen to it - it's surprising and beautiful. There have been some derisive reviews about how it was put together...I don't really care how it was done, what they have created is superb.

Free Music Review: Middle-aged rocker awakens to a new kind of beauty Hit: 5 Stars
The music on this album has woven its way into my neural pathways. I heard a cut on the radio with Michael Stipes, and it was cool enough to prompt me to buy. Meticulously produced, ethnic without being too far afield of Western pop, It's an East-Meets-West kind of deal with superb musicianship on both sides, a wonderful groove threaded throughout the album and some of the closest, tastiest Enigma-like songs I've heard outside of Enigma recordings. You'll also be smitten with the recorded wisdom of Kurt Vonnegut and Ram Dass. If you are ever depressed, "All Alone" will help you come back.
