"In My Tribe" and "Our Time In Eden" are respectvely among the best 80's and 90's recordings. But here, in the intimacey of live performance, the songs become more ... real. More relevant. Each track is significantly better than the studio versions of the songs. It functions like a "Best Of" album, or in terms of literature a "Selected Works Of". Simply calling it a live album doesn't do it justice. What a shame I never got to see the Maniacs in concert! Unplugged was a mainstay of my daily music intake while living in the UK for 8 months. 4 years later, just listening to these recording unleashes a flood of great memories. The simplicity of the music style and the dominating presence of Natalie Merchant's voice make this one work. However, it is obvious that many of these songs, especially the newer ones, still were at their peak in the studio where technical hoo haw could make up for an average band.Free Music Review: One of the best!!

Wow!! This album is incredible! Natalie and 10,000 Maniacs show their versatillity as artists through live performances, and they make great songs even better! The songs leave the listener with a deeper feeling and purpose in life. They leave you to sit and reflect on your life and decide if it is where you would like to be going...It is a very powerful cd.
