Hey, thank for writing that, the above... -that's exactly how I feel about that song... and about the album as well... In the case of "Baby Blue," -it is an already classic song that the Elevators are covering... -but it's just a foundation for the emotion which Roky and the Elevators instill into it... as if the song is taking place at four or five different speeds and direction... -so much yearning, understanding, breathtaking, experienced and yet bittersweet and asking if is that all there is, then it has to be this way, sadly beautiful... -This is a case of the singer, and not neccessarily the song... -but you can't go wrong with this Dylan tune...

The rest of the album covers the raging glories and physical limitations inherent in the philosopic explorations mixing with drug visions... saving you the hassle yourself...; -the Elevators were heavy into drug mysticism, it seems... -and while it may have killed their careers and ruined the band (drug busts in '67 or '68, I believe, which stopped them from touring)... -all the influences around the sound of this lp make for an original Texas-garage-band evolution which crystallizes into form and shape in this classic recording...

All the songs are great, as other reviewers have noted... ("Levitation" will make you feel 10 feet tall)...

For those uninitiated to this band: If you'd like a similar sound (though original) to "Jumping Jack Flash"-era Stones, "Purple Haze"-era Hendrix, and wonder what Psychedlic Sixties music was all about before commercialization, this album is essential...
