Free Music Notes for 1776: The New Broadway Cast Recording (1997)Free Music Review: Absolutely tremendous! Well worth the money! Hit: 5 Stars
"1776: The New Broadway Cast Recording" is a tremendous collaboration of the music and songs from the equally terrific musical. Brent Spiner is a tremendous John Adams; Pat Hingle is absolutely wonderful as Ben Franklin; and Michael Cumpsty and Gregg Edelman are great as John Dickinson and Edward Rutledge, respectively. You will not be disappointed in this CD - it makes you feel as though you are in the mammoth Gershwin Theatre watching the Tony-nominated musical.
Free Music Review: One of my favorites musicals! Hit: 5 Stars
I must admit. I was felt a little odd to ordering a CD of a musical about the signing of the Declaration of Independence. After listening to this CD for just one time I was hooked! The music is catchy and the lyrics are witty. If you have any thoughts about not getting this CD I ask you to please change your mind. This is one of the biggest and greatest pieces of musical theater that gets placed on the back burner. Give it a chance I guarantee you will love it!
Free Music Review: This is Completely Worth It! Hit: 5 Stars
Okay, so the American Revolution doesn't sound like a good topic for a musical...Wrong! This is one of the greatest musicals ever. I am so attatched to this show that people think I am nuts but believe me, you will not be disappointed.Spiner and Edelman shine as Adams and Rutledge and the chorus is great. There isn't a person in the cast who doesn't make you feel as if you are right there is Phillie. Buy the cd. It is a guarenteed number one!
Free Music Review: Good Gawd! Hit: 5 Stars
Just fantastic performances from everyone featured on the CD. Of special note is Gregg Edelman's rendition of "Molasses to Rum" but the best thing about this recording is the level of quality all the singers show. I didn't have an opportunity to see it performed, and this CD shows me just how much I really missed. I bought it because I'm a Brent Spiner fan, and as always he sounds marvelous, but really it sounds like a very strong ensemble effort.
Free Music Review: Education REALLY made fun! Hit: 5 Stars
Excellent, excellent, excellent! I am only 10 years old and I loved this musical on broadway and when I got this music I began listening to it 24 hours a day. It taught me loads about the Declaration of Independence! I now have memorized all the songs. Though some of the lyrics are a bit corny the songs are still entertaining, educational, and fun! I highly reccomend this product! Don't sit there piddling, twiddling, and resolving, buy it!
