Free Music Review: Wherez Battlecat & Warren G??
Hit: 5 Stars

Until the End of Time Tupac Shakur's new CD entitled Until the End of Time has some of the best and worst characteristics of any of his CD's. His lyrics are more haunting than ever considering that he has been deceased for almost five years. The music set behind his lyrics however, lacks the quality and power that his fans have grown accustomed to hearing. Despite this I think it could one of his greatest works of all. While listening to his lyrics, a feeling of sadness came over me. It pained me to think that a mind and a life such as his was taken so early. In the rap industry that Tupac helped build there are too many nameless and faceless artists who rap about nothing important at all. While doing this they take the attention away from artists with true talent like Tupac. All of his songs had a deep meaning and message for his listeners to find. His line from the title track, Until the End of Time "The money and the fame made us all change places" showed he didn't think he was special for being famous. All he knew was that he had a gift and could make people listen to the problems that he and his people like him faced every day. To him, the money was just like an added incentive to help keep him rapping and spreading his message of hope. During his life, the media's portrayal of Tupac was an extremely negative one. They painted a picture showing Tupac and his Death Row label at was with The Notorious B.I.G. and his label Bad Boy. The truth was quite the opposite as shown by his title for song two on the first CD "Lets be Friends." Throughout the song he tries to extend a hand of peace while still staying true to his thug life ways. Even though there were hard feelings between the two groups neither side had taken it to the extreme that the media portrayed it as. It is just too bad that song had to be released after the death of both artists. While the lyrics and the songs met the standards set by Tupac's previous records the music and the beats behind the music was sub-par to compared to his old standards. With the Executive Producer, Suge Knight, in jail during the making of the CD all of the top DJ's left Death Row and were not used in the mixing of this CD. Guys like Battlecat and Warren G who helped make Death Row famous for its hard-hitting music and high bass beats were not allowed to work on this CD and help make it an instant classic like so many previous Death Row records. While the music did not reach the quality of his other CD's, the lyrics did. Tupac has shown once again his ability to paint pictures for audience using his lyrics. The poetic flow of his words is what has truly made him a genius in the art of hip- hop. My opinion of this CD is that it is one of his finest works and is a great buy for anyone who is already a Tupac fan or is listening to him for the first time.
