Free Music Notes for Me Against the WorldFree Music Review: Why is 2Pac so great? Me Against The World Hit: 5 Stars
2Pac is without a doubt the greatest rapper ever, and Me Against The World proves it. Along with All Eyez on Me, Me Against The World is probably his best work.
This is possibly even the best rap Album of all time, or so many would say.
Every song on this Album has a unique beat and Pac's lyrics are amazing on every single track on this Cd.
Anyway, I'm just gonna review every song one by one, I prefer my reviews like that. Sure I could give you the whole life story of Pac but I'll leave that to someone else :)
Note if I give it 10 it's cause the song is PERFECT!
1. Intro - 8/10
The Intro has a great little beat running in the background. We hear several News Reporters speak of 2Pac and all the things he's been through recently. This is Pac showing off. This Intro would've got 10 if we'd had Pac speaking on it himself :) But only being an Intro you shouldn't count this for mattering too much.
2. If I Die 2nite - 9.5/10
Great beat, great Lyrics, great overall. This is not the best track on this Album, but there's no way I could give it less than this.
3. Me Against The World - 10/10 (feat. Dramacydal)
The title track. This is a classic. The beat is relaxing and has an awesome flow, all that with Pac's powerful lyrics running over it. You'll love this track, without a doubt.
4. So Many Tears - 10.5/10
Okay, I know I shouldn't be able to rate a song 10.5/10, but this track is amazing, possibly my favorit of all the tracks on this. I mean, if I compare this with Me Against The World, it would be comparing a perfect song with an ever more perfect song! The beat is AMAZING, and the lyrics are EVEN MORE AMAZING. Shock-G helped Pac with making the beat for this, and the result is absolutely stunning. Pac's lyrics are so deep on this. I would continue telling you how great this is, but I would only be repeating myself!
5. Temptations 9/10
This song made it on the Greatest Hits. Sure this song is a 9 without a doubt, and it's great, there's nothing to discuss there. But, and I'm not saying it's bad, but this is one of the "worst" tracks on this Cd. To this date I still don't understand how this made it on the Greatest Hits with all the songs Pac has made. Anyway, this song owns, a 9!
6. Young Niggaz - 10/10
I love this track, the beat, the lyrics, everything! I was close to give this 9.5, but then decided to give it a 10, lol. This is another great song by Pac! Nuff said!
7. Heavy In The Game - 9/10 (feat. Richie Rich)
I've always liked Richie Rich, his voice and style is awesome, so obviously this track can't get less than 9. This song is great, but sadly it's one of the "worst" on the Album. I blame the beat, which is good, but just not as good as many of the other amazing beats.
8. Lord Knows - 9.5/10
This song has a clam beat, and combined with Pac's lyrics, which in this song get you in a sad mood, makes a really unique song. This is a 9.5, and one of those songs that really makes this Album so fantastic.
9. Dear Mama - 10/10
This song is a timeless classic. Pac sings to his Mama. This song was revolutionary to the whole rap game. The beat is perfect, and the lyrics are... you'll just have to hear them for yourself. This song is another of those tracks that made this "the" best.
10. It Ain't Easy - 10/10
I LOVE THIS! I love the beat, I love the lyrics, I love it all! Some might only give this 9.5, but to me this will always be a 10.
11. Can U Get Away - 9.5/10
This is a very calm track. The lyrics are, as usual with Pac, top quality. This is not one of Pac's very best, but it's not one of his worst either (though Pac has made no bad songs ever, not counting Loyal To The Game Album, which Pac had nothing to do with :). The Chorus adds the final touch, this song is great.
12. Old School - 10/10
Pac sings to the Old School, and as usual, his song turns out a classic. This track is a very important part of the Album. This is one of Pac's classics.
13. F___ The World - 10/10
This is another 10, Pac speaks his mind out. The beat is awesome, the lyrics are awesome.
14. Death Around The Corner - 10/10
This is one of the best songs on the Album. The lyrics are crazy, get ready to experience a paranoid Pac. This whole song is just crazy. A CLASSIC!
15. Outlaw - 9/10 (feat. Dramacydal)
This track isn't bad, but it's probably the worst on the whole Album. And yet I can't give it less than 9, it's great. As I've already told, every song has a unique beat, and every song has lyrics which are top quality. Don't expect any other rap Album to beat this one lyrically (and if you find one, it's probably another of Pac's).
You don't know what real rap is before you've heard this Album.
If you like rap/hip hop this Album is a MUST HAVE! A timeless classic, possibly the best Album of all time! Really do I have to say more?
Buy this thing! You WONT get dissapointed!
Me Against the World PosterNo Description Available No Track Information Available Media Type: CD Artist: TUPAC Title: ME AGAINST THE WORLD Street Release Date: 03/10/1998 Domestic Genre: RAP/HIP HOP The gruesome details surrounding Tupac's third solo offering are enough to give any music fan the willies. Released when Tupac was in jail serving time for a rape conviction and just after his recovery from being shot-up gangland-style at a recording studio, this was his most introspective piece of work to date. The heavy-hearted album opens up with a radio commentary describing the circumstances surrounding his shooting, and then plunges headfirst into Pac's infatuation with death. "So Many Tears," "Death Around the Corner," and "If I Die 2Nite" are all dark, eerily prophetic tunes that lend credence to widespread theories which suggest that Pac anticipated his impending death. The perpetually thugged-out wonder reveals a more benevolent side when it comes to gender and family issues. On "Dear Mama"--a fitting tribute to his mother recorded in the "Keep Ya Head Up" vein--Pac takes listeners into the loving recesses of his heart, while on "Can U Get Away," he echoes similar respectful sentiments to black womynkind. This is probably Pac's most progressive issues-oriented release before he signed to Death Row and became a full-blown thug. --Dalton Higgins
