Music is one of the rare forms of expression in which a good story can be found, IF it's told right. A story usually has a point and is often told so that the listener/reader is uplifted. The lyrics on this CD DO have a point, but I felt like a deflated balloon afterward. If the story is sung and accompanied by instruments, it should have a flow and rhythm to it, which is really lacking in this case. Russells' musical voice isn't bad, but some music notes elude the guy. The notes hardly ever stray further than a heartbeat from its flatline.. seems like they're missing a few strings from their guitars as well. I'll take musical notes for $1000 Alex. There's a whole range of octaves yet for these guys to discover. If their music was food, I'd say it had the pep of an unsalted peanut, edible but bland. They have potential, but don't buy it if your on prozac. Makes for a good sleep aid though.
