Tyler Bates has created an outstanding score for the epic "300." The music pulls you into that moment of history, making you feel what it was like to be at that moment in 480 B.C. From haunting pieces such as "Goodbye my Love" and "Message for the Queen," to pulse-pounding pieces such as "To Victory" and "The Hot Gates," the music compliments the movie very well, while standing on its own too. Fans of the film, and of great instrumental music, will not be disappointed by "300: The Original Motion Picture Soundtrack!"

Having watched the film a couple of times already, I was glad when I got the soundtrack in the mail yesterday. I was able to re-experience the film mentally while listening to the album. A lot has already been said about this sountrack. But I will say that this is one of the few that are complex, well-orchestrated, and able to express the feel of each and every image/frame from the film even when listening to it at home while playing Final Fantasy XII at home...as I have been doing! If you train rigorously in martial arts, or MMA, this is definately a cd you will want to have. The score is highly motivational , and will remind any serious martial artists to push their own limits. The movie was Hollywood, but the martial ability of the Spartans was real.The music strikes an almost genetic resonance to a time when your life and freedom depended on your martial ability.Free Music Review: Score compliments stunning visuals!

I bought the soundtrack before seeing the film as I was sold on the trailer for the movie. Took me a few listens but, the music grew on me immensely and after seeing the film it compliments the images perfectly! Use of choir,synthesizer and ethnic instruments (much like McCreary's Battlestar Galactica and Zimmer's Black Hawk Down) offer a great listening experience.
