Free Music Notes for From ChaosFree Music Review: This is their greatest album they've put out yet. Hit: 5 Stars
I bought the new 311 album on Tuesday, and fell in love with it from the first time i heard it. I am a long-time fan, and I have loved everything they put out. But normally it will take me a while to get into every song on the album. But this time, they floored me. I honestly can't say anything bad about this album from a fan's perspective, except that it needed more songs! I agree with the guy that said it sounded like Grassroots, I think that is very true. Which is interesting because Grassroots is probably my least favorite of their albums, and this is my favorite. I wouldn't necessarily recommend this album to introduce you to the band, you should start with "Music" or "311" but this is a must-have album for anyone that likes their music.
Free Music Review: From Chaos - Another Great Album from 311 Hit: 5 Stars
The first song I had ever heard from 311 was "All Mixed Up." That song was great back then and it is still great now. In my opinion, their self-titled album was their best, but From Chaos comes pretty close too. It was definitely worth the money. The best songs are "From Chaos," "I Told Myself," "Champagne," "Hostile Apostle," "Amber," "Uncalm," and "I'll Be Here Awhile." So, most of the songs are my favorite, but the rest of the album is still great, don't get me wrong. So if you like any 311 songs, old or new, you should DEFINITELY go out and buy From Chaos! As an added bonus to buying the CD, you get exclusive interviews from each band member when you pop the CD in to your computer. The bottom line is, you should buy the album. Like they say, it's "Sick Tight"!!!!
Free Music Review: better than I even thought Hit: 5 Stars
First off I'll say I am only a casual 311 listener. I only have Transistor and Soundsystem and From Chaos. I just got done listening to From Chaos 2 times straight through without skipping a song. I've never done that, I rarely even listen to a whole cd without skipping a song. From Chaos is definatly better than Transistor and Soundystem in my opinion. I didn't expect From Chaos to be so good. It makes me wanna go out and buy grassroots and the blue album and music as soon as possible. My fav tracks on From Chaos are "you got worked" "full ride" "hostile apostile" and "amber". Amber is probably the best 311 song I've heard. Anyways, even if your just a casual 311 listener, you'll love this. One of my fav cds.
Free Music Review: Buy it for "Amber" alone! Hit: 5 Stars
The last three songs on this album are simply AMAZING, but I have to say that the stand out by far is "Amber". I could (and have)listened to this song over and over again, without ever feeling like I couldn't listen to it just one more time. I think it would be absolutely criminal not to release "Amber" as a single! Even people who don't dig 311 have gone nuts for this song when I've played it for them... Tim's playing on "Champagne" is another stand out. Could he get any better?!!!! The only criticism I have is that the lyrics aren't quite as inventive as they have been on past efforts, but I feel that new fans and old a like will find something wonderful by picking up this album. BUY THIS!!!!
Free Music Review: Best Since Grassroots Hit: 5 Stars
For true 311 fans, From Chaos is just a further example of why the Omaha boys rock so much. From Chaos, in my opinion, is their best effort since Grassroots. Their edginess returns and is accentuated by beautiful ballads like "Amber".To know 311 is to see them in concert, though. Never have I experience a more energetic and facinating set than the one I saw several years ago when they played in Topeka, KS at the State Expocenter. The Urge opened and it was amazing. From Chaos captures the energy that defines 311 and is a fantastic album...one that puts to shame all of the Limp Bitzkit, Linkin Park, 311-[pretenders] and firmly establishes 311 as one of the premiere rap-rock bands of the last 10 years.
