Free Music Review: Good follow-up to a masterpiece.
Hit: 4 Stars

While this is not A Snow-Capped Romance in any way, it is not a letdown. It is very difficult to follow up a masterpiece, but this is a very solid cd with plenty of great moments and some killer riffs, vocals, and hooks. This is still a stronger album than Bitterness the Star, their debut. I really enjoyed it and hope they continue making great tunes.

Free Music Review: One of My Personal Favorites
Hit: 4 Stars

36CF latest outing is what would happen if Fist of the Star and Snowcapped Romance had a love child. The vocals are more fitting for Snowcapped Romance, while the music is more in tune to Fist of the Star.
Overall the album is solid and won't be a dissapointment, my absolute favorite moment by far has to be the excellent acoustic AS THE CITY IGNITES.

Free Music Review: Disappointing, but not all bad.
Hit: 3 Stars

I've been an avid 36CF fan for quite some time now, and have all three of the CD's. Bitterness the Star is a musical masterpiece in almost every facet a CD can be amazing. Their follow-up CD, A Snow Capped Romance wasn't quite as heavy, but still maintained the originality and musicianship of Bitterness, and was a good overall CD.

I truly believe, while Rest Inside the Flames is NOT a bad CD, that it receives much more praise than it deserves. This is the only CD out of the three that actually has BAD songs on it.. both of the first two have some songs I don't love but can still listen to. RITF has songs I absolutely can't stand listening to... about four or five of them. Don't get me wrong, there are still signs of the old 36CF on this CD with songs like "The Great Descent", but then there are songs like "Will Pull this in by Hand" that make me want to put something sharp in my ear. It's very clear that they are attempting to draw a bigger audience by mainstreaming.. many of these songs are dangerously close to "post-hardcore" which IMO is a terrible, terrible genre of music for the most part. Their older efforts combined many styles into a unique sound that was unlike any band I'd ever heard, but this CD is much more cookie-cutter generic than the first two. Like I said earlier, it does have some good songs, but it has just about as many bad ones with a few right smack in the middle.. regardless, if you are a 36CF fan, you'll want to pick it up.

Free Music Review: All the other reviews are correct!
Hit: 5 Stars

Just buy this CD and while you are picking up Rest Inside the Flames you might as well pick up A Snow Capped Romance AND Bitterness The Star. All 3 CD's are extremely good! Heavy as F&@K!! VERY under-rated band!

Free Music Review: Definately Metal...
Hit: 5 Stars

I am not a big fan of metal, but 36 crazyfist is an exception to the rule. All of their albums are amazing, but this album has me wiped. Try it you'll like it.
