Far better than "54 part 1", this disc reminds one of happier---and...ok younger times. "If You Could Read my Mind" starts the party, and along the way you find Grace Jones ( " I Need A Man") France Joli (" Come To Me") along with many others---all good.Studio 54 was, for better or worse, a happy place---you felt special when you were there---no rules, great crowd and music that made everyone go wild---Let'sdo it again!. Give this disc a try---you should like it- sit down with a cocktail and remember Halston, Andy, Liza, Bianca, and Calvin in their prime! ...and no red velvet rope either! This Cd was when Dance music was ruling the world. Take a journey back to the time of real music, and not a bunch of noise coming out of their mouths. Music had a beat, a rhythm a style and most of all, it had class. You had to look at your best to be able to get into Studio 54. Today, even with a baseball cap and eating a microphone you can talk sing. On this CD, you had to be the best to be able to Dance, Dance, Dance. The music on this Cd will take you back in time and relive the beauty of the dance floor, lights, and heart pounding bass that MADE you dance all night. "If you could read my mind " you would have included this song by Viola Wills 6:50 instead of Stars
If you could read my mind you should have included the extended version of " Loving is really my game " instead of this shorter version. I realize time is an issue and would rather hear less songs but the full extended version. The extended version of " Loving is really my game " has yet to be released on CD. I wish a record company would do so. Transfered from the original master tapes.

I really loved If You Could Read My Mind! That was a really good remake. I Need A Man by Grace Jones really taps into how people feel when they are in a club. This CD is definitely for beginner fans of dance music. It helps you understand a little bit about the heart of dance music. Dance music isn't as simple as it seems.

I got the second volume to this and it is good, but not as good as Vol. 1. The good cuts on this one are "I Haven't Stopped Dancing Yet", "If You Could Read My Mind", "Don't Leave Me This Way", and "Heart of Glass". It's worth it to listen, but I recommend Volume one of 54.
