See it! If you haven't seen the show, catch the tour. It's on right now. An evening of pure fun and entertainment. And this soundtrack doubles the fun. Extraordinary. It tells the story just as the movie did, but since it's a musical, it captures the characters musically giving extra depth. Get it! Enjoy it! It's so much fun to hear Dolly Parton stretch her musical wings onto Broadway. And Alison Janney as Violet is fabulous. What a treat.Free Music Review: Better than I could've hoped

I was a little weary of going to see 9 to 5 on Broadway because, even though I love the movie and I LOVE Dolly, I wasn't sure she could write the Broadway standard songs. Boy was I surprised, and boy did she deliver! Power ballads, showstoppers, comic performances, this cd has all of it! I couldn't be happier! It is always good to get the original cast album of a great show...especially after seeing it on Broadway a few days before. The cast is brilliant...the music original and fun...and performed flawlessly. I recommend it highly especially if the newly announced tour is on its way to your city.
