If you're in two minds about buying this album, let me nudge you in the right direction.These guys can sing, no doubt about it. But on other albums (and sometimes here), vocals that are too cute by half, and uninspiring production, get in the way.
Luckily, on "This Gift", these problems were overcome. This song will become a Christmas classic for generations to come. Great words, great melody, great singing, and a truly great vocal arrangement, which after all is what boy bands exist for.
I have to say that some songs this group recorded makes me want to puke, they're so sweet and gooey. But any album with "This Gift" on it deserves 5 stars, because, while some half-wit critic might call it a "musical toss off", (whatever that means), the song will speak for itself if you just listen to the sample, then buy the album and listen to the whole song (at which point you'll immediately want to play it again).
