Free Music Notes for A Hard Day's NightFree Music Review: Possibly their best early album Hit: 5 StarsHard Days Night is the soundtrack from their blockbuster first movie.
The Movie has no plot actually. The whole premise is the Beatles preparing for a concert, while Paul's Uncle is out and about getting into mischief. It is however a very good vehicle for the Beatles to showcase their new songs. It shows the Beatles doing their music with a Groucho Marx type dialogue. You hear several one liners such as George Harrison being asked, "What do you call that hair style", his answer being, "Arthur". The movie is very silly but recalls the times and where the Beatles were at that time.
There are some funny scenes and its a great way to hear their music.
Hard Days Night is of course the title tracks along with I Should Have Known Better.
You also get two beautiful ballads in If I Fell and with And I Love Her. Cant Buy Me Love is also included along with I'll be back Again.
This is an outstanding album musically and the soundtrack to a very fun movie, I would recommend both.....enjoy
Free Music Review: A Hard Day's...Listen Hit: 3 StarsYet another crime against art. The music is great, the cover is a classic, but the digital production stinks bad!! Shame on EMI and George Martin for settling for this kind of sound quality.

This is obviously a 5 star album, but with such poor "digital" production it gets 1 star. So that looks like 3 stars.
Free Music Review: What can I say? It's The Beatles! Hit: 5 StarsNot a lot to say, just...excellent! I love this album, I'm almost going to say it's my favourite..but I'm not quite sure yet! I think the earlier stuff from The Beatles are just as good as their later music.
Although, only the first six tracks on this album were featured on the film, the other half of the album is just as pleasant. With songs like, You Can't Do That, and I'll Be Back, just completes the album.
Highly recommended. You need this album to complete your Beatles collection.

Free Music Review: Beatlemania At It's Best! Hit: 5 StarsThis was the soundtrack to their first movie "A Hard Day's Night" but also it was the first album where Lennon/McCartney wrote all songs on a album and where The Beatles become a mythical band that sold well on both sides of the atlantic. 1964 was the real start of Beatlemania. This album is full of classics with this fantastic catchy sing-a long sound and good guitar riffs that became the bands trademark during Beatlemania. There isn't much more I have to say other then that this album is a masterpiece so I'll start with the songs.
"A Hard Days Night" is a classic beatlemania song and hitsingle. It's a catchy meliodic uptempo rock song with some good guitar riffs aswell. "I Should Have Known Better" is a song about regrets about a relationship, a semi-ballad with harmnica and ofcourse a hit too. "If I Fell" is a classic ballad with the boys singing in voices, underrated song defenitely. "Im Happy Just to Dance with You" was the only song that Harrison was able to sing here, a McCartney/Lennon song ofcourse but he was happy just to get to sing. A meliodic midtemo-song. "And I Love Her" is a great ballad too. One of the better early Beatle ballads. "Tell Me Why" is a sing a long uptempo song. "Can't Buy Me Love", is one of their most essential classics, a catchy uptempo, it was 1 in both USA and UK.
"Any Time at All" is a blues-influented midtempo with decisive riffs and folk-rock sound. Before it's time?. "I'll Cry Instead" is country influented midtempo. "Things We said Today" is a melancholy semi-ballad. Probably among the weaker here. "When I get Home" is a uptempo rock song with sing a long sound. "You Can't Do That" energic midtempo with great riffs from blues guitar. "I'll Be Back" is a slow song and a good name for a closer, cause they were defenitely coming back later.
Overall, "A Hard Day's Night" was not only a soundtrack album but also a fantastic album where the true Beatles sound influenced by Paul & John finally break through, It was also the album when the Beatles become mythical and on top of all charts all around the world. A classic rock album with catchy Beatlemania sound, not to miss. Essential.
