A Prairie Home Companion Delux set is one of my ways to escape the Rat Race and Hussel & Bussel of my everyday routine.It truly helps reflect on things that are so simple and most enjoyable,like good ole down home melodies, silly jokes that are not directed at anyone specific yet still make us laugh and most importantly givs us a break from what ails you....kinda like a good shot of your favorite whiskey.Robert Altman really knew what he was doing as he brought such a diverse cast together and made it work.E.G..Lindsay lohen and Meryl Streep,Tommy Lee Jones and Kevin Kline?Who else could put apples and oranges together and still make it right.Enjoy....J.D.Free Music Review: The Marvelous Meryl Streep

This is a wonderful collection of songs, sung with warmth and heart - a true treasury of music.
The highlight has to be, though, the beautiful voice of Meryl Streep. Not only is she the world's greatest living actress, but she is a profoundly talented and gifted vocalist. Her grace, warmth, depth, and beauty give a gorgeous elegance - and eloquence - to the songs she performs. I challenge anyone to listen to "Goodbye to My Mama" without becoming teary-eyed. Streep is, in every way, quite simply...extraordinary.
A highly recommended collection of entertaining and touching songs.

I am very well pleased with A Prairie Home Companion Cd. It is all that I expected, a very good Cd. I ordered another CD by Patty Loveless and it was supposed to be delivered March 27th. Today is April third and still have not recieved it. I am disappoined that it was not delivered by the usps. Can you give me a clue why I have not received my CD of Patty Loveless, You need to e-mail me back and explain why I have not received this cd. I rented the dvd recently, the cast sold me... then i heard the songs i mean its not the usual stuff they play today The lyrics were captivating i immediately wanted the soundtrack!! Jearlyn steeles' The day is short and Goodbye to my mama by meryl & Lily are my favourite two...the movie itself made me think of how much raw talent there must have been when live Radio shows were running, i suppose shows like the tonight show,ed sullivan etc took over its nice to be reminded how not so long ago this was Radio and it was first rate and impulsive.Free Music Review: A Great CD from a Fun Movie

I bought this CD after seeing the movie this weekend. I was impressed by the movie, and looked forward to checking out the soundtrack.
Thankfully, this album delivers every track in spirit of a great movie. Whether I am listening to it in the car or at home, I can't help but sing along. I imagine this CD will be on my playlists for weeks to come!
My Minnesota Home with Meryl Streep and Lily Tomlin is great, and even the instrumentals are impressive. This is a must buy for any music fan!
