Free Music Notes for Midnight MaraudersFree Music Review: 100% Quality - No Filler Hit: 5 StarsWhat is there to say about "Midnight Marauders" other than that it's one of the greatest albums in the history of hip hop? Not much.
From the opening horns of "Steve Biko (Stir It Up)" to the very last beat of "God Lives Through" there's not a bad track on the cd. Q Tip and Phife are at their best, (check the rhymes and pop culture references on "Keep it Rollin'") and Ali's production is on point. This is a must have for anyone who wants to discover what true hip hop is all about.
Free Music Review: One of the best Albums ever......period Hit: 5 StarsThis was my first TCQ purchase and I loved every single track on this amazing album. Forget 50 cent, this is a must have for all fans of Hip Hop(heck I should get shot for just bringing up 50 cent in the same room for a TCQ). Ali is an amazing music producer and Phife n Q are awesome lyricests. Something I enjoyed about this album is the fact that they balance out the songs from "Phife breaking his own single" to "Q Tip breaking his own single vers" and then songs like "Clap your Hands" and "God Lives Through" where they both spit out there vers's..It's just an incredible album not to mention this has alot of stand out tracks such as "Clap Your Hands" "Sucka N*gga" "Midnight" "Electric Relaxation" "Steve Biko" "8 million Stories" "God Lives Through" and "Award Tour"...
5/5 Amazing album
Free Music Review: Classic Hip Hop Hit: 5 StarsThe album dropped, and my girls and I were in the kitchen cooking brunch. We were home from college and trying to spend some quality time together, holding onto some of that pure b-girl feeling in the midst of higher education. The album played and...played again...and played again. It was pure bliss and beats. Most reviewers would try and take apart the album and analyze each song. Why? From one track to another it is seemless perfection, and marks a zenith in the art and flow of hip hop. Something to have. It will never get old.
Free Music Review: Once Again Hit: 5 StarsHow did they manage to do it again.Q-Tip,Phife Dawg, and Ali Shaheed Muhammad put together another legendary album. Midnight Marauders is different from Low End Theory, in that, it is more on par with their hip-hop contemporaries. The Low End Theory was more aesthetic and poetic, this is straight forward Hip Hop.The top three songs on here are; Electric Relaxation (ode to females), Lyrics to Go(about how good they are), We Can Get Down( a comming out song). The subject matter has expanded from Low End Theory. It ranges from everyday problems, the n word, their place in history, appreciation of women, love of Hip-Hop and its artist. ATCQ always stayed positive and never said a negative word about their contemporaries (well the "real" artist anyways). And this theme remained consistent. As for the lyrics...Phife Dawg grew in leaps and bounds while Tip increased minimally (but Tip is one of the best emcees of the 90's). Top 50 album of all time with no regard to genre. If only they got the praise they deserved...
Free Music Review: Classic Third Album Hit: 5 StarsAfter two classic albums how does Tribe follow them, with a third classic album. Though not one track stands out as on their last two this album as good and also has some stuff that is better than on those two albums. Q-Tip and Phife tell stories that are very rich. The guest appearances by Dove of De La Soul and Busta Rhymes are short and don't outshine Tribe at all. Favorites include Steve Biko (Stir It Up), Award Tour, 8 Million Stories, Sucka N****, Midnight, Electric Relaxation, Clap Your Hands, Oh My God, Lyrics to Go, and God Lives Through. Highly Highly Recommended.
