Free Music Notes for A Walk on the Moon

Free Music Review: perfect soundtrack for a wistful day...
Hit: 4 Stars

I adore this cd...the songs on this soundtrack make me want to daydream all day with the one exception of Helplessly Hoping by Taxi...I'm sure they are a good group, but truly, only CSN can really do this beautiful song justice...otherwise...happy dreaming!

Free Music Review: Not the complete soundtrack...and so expensive!
Hit: 3 Stars

As some of the other reviewers noted, this CD is not a complete soundtrack. And why are they charging so much on top of that? From memory I can list: More (Bobby Darin), For Your Love (Ed Townsend), The Israelites (Desmond Dekker), Freedom (Richie Havens), Purple Haze (Jimi Hendrix Experience), and Subterranean Homesick Blues (Bob Dylan). Some of you might want to burn a CD with these added as well. Anyway, they could have made a complete soundtrack for this fine film.

Free Music Review: 13. Who Knows Where The Time Goes - Judy Collins
Hit: 2 Stars

I was just a teenager in the 60's, and I grew up in the same kind of household as the movie. But,, I had a little problem with the selection of songs used for the soundtrack. Track 13. Who Knows Where The Time Goes by Judy Collins, was originally written and sung by Sandy Denny. No wonder why Sandy Denny is hardly known in the United States. I also think Sandy Denny's version should have been included in the movie and soundtrack. Also, Richie Havens Freedom was left out of the soundtrack. The rest of the music I thought was really good.

Free Music Review: Sorry
Hit: 2 Stars

Sorry, but one of the best songs in the film is left off the CD: "Israelites," by Desmond Dekker. I almost bought the CD by accident, thinking that this reggae classic would be included. It's played during a very tender moment in the film--perfect choice of music. Too bad it's not on the CD.

Free Music Review: Omissions
Hit: 2 Stars

As already noted, there are several very good songs omitted from the soundtrack. The 1st one that comes to my mind is "Uncle John's Band" by the Grateful Dead. This compilation is a poor effort by the producers, who obviously either didn't live through the late 60's or they were too messed up to notice.
