Free Music Review: Martin Fry and the chocolate men

For ABC "Lexicon of Love", was the million dollar album. All the
pretty dancegirls and all their yooung men, danced the night away
in nightclubs around Sheffield, England. It was a gigantic funship.
After everyone had nulled their senses with "The Look of Love", it
seemed there was no replacement for the euphoric trip.
"Beauty Stab",never could regain those fans. The cigarette smoke
of those nightclub days had long since dissipated, the girls got
married, and so it goes.
It is unfortunate for "Beauty Stab" contains many tracks to entertain
the mind. Such as "S.O.S.", "United KIngdom", and "Design by Default."
Martin Fry really did not change the key of the songs very often, and
the orchestrations needed more attention...but there was more to come.
"How to be a Millionaire" was for many the best album ABC recorded.
(I would agree, except for about two tracks.)
If you own any ABC on vinyl, hang on to them. Transfer to CD, and place
them in a dust & heat free environment.
In the order of British Pop I would guess ABC rank about 20th. Just for the record!
