Free Music Review: The best AC/DC album of all time
Hit: 5 Stars

I was there. Mid 70's through early 80's, listening to them in high school, the Marine Corps and college. Good Lord, am I dating myself.

But folks, this is the definitive AC/DC studio album. Not as raw as the live performances, which are astounding - but there is no better array of songs that represent the full spectrum of their shocking ability. To simply call this hard rock is a disservice, as "Gone Shootin'" will clue you in - their roots were strictly in the blues. And if you listen closely to Angus Young's guitar, you'll detect a feral dose of classical and hard core punk tossed in for good measure - no ego in his playing, just a dedication to blazing execution. This one is as good as it gets.

Yes, "Back In Black" is a great comeback album, perhaps the best in rock history. But this is the one that seemed to catch them in perfect synchronicity, right between the rougher hewn sound of "Let There Be Rock" and the more polished "Highway To Hell." This one never, ever gets old.

As an aside, I attended a live AC/DC show in Oakland seven years back, and sitting in front of me were two sixteen year old neophytes. One of them turned to me and casually introduced himself. "Hey man, we've never heard these guys, but someone told me they're all right, kind of like Nirvana." I smiled, and pushed in my earplugs. They scoffed and turned away.

Halfway through a blistering Angus solo, I looked over at them - they were doubled over, holding their ears in agony.

At the end of the show, they arose, glassy eyed and unsteady. One of them turned to me and yelled: "DUDE, THAT WAS AWESOME! WHO ARE THOSE GUYS?!"

One convert at a time.

Free Music Review: AC/DC Razors Edge
Hit: 5 Stars

If you're `ready for a good time' then you better put in one of my favorite CDs, AC/DC's The Razors Edge. This CD may be from the 20th Century, but it is still an album that rocks the 21st Century. AC/DC, in my opinion, compiled one of the greatest lists of songs and recorded them all onto one of the greatest CDs I have ever heard. When comparing them to all other genres of music of today, I vote AC/DC hands down. I'm not sure how you can go wrong by listening to this AC/DC CD. In my opinion, AC/DC sure knew what they were doing when they made this CD. I mean with songs like Thunderstruck and Money Talks, how can you not like it? The lyrics to these songs are easy to understand and relate to. They get my heart racing and my head banging. From Got You By the Balls to The Razors Edge, AC/DC's CD has everything. Every time a DJ throws on an AC/DC song, the average, laid back crowd seems to want to sing along. It's like it fills the room with an instant energizer. The bass comes coursing thought the crowd zigging and zagging seeming to fill them with a new found energy like when a river bursts through a dam and looks alive again. This music seems to have the same affect on the crowd, waking them and bringing them to their feet. This CD was one of my all time favorites to listen to while warming up for either a wrestling match or football game. It seemed to help me get my mind set on the match or game mainly keeping me focused. So if you're looking for a CD to get you ready for the game or to just give you a little energy boost, this CD, in my opinion, should do the trick.

Free Music Review: Their most overlooked album
Hit: 5 Stars

I think even Malcolm Young said it, that this was their most forgotten album. It`s definately one of their best. It`s as good as Let there be Rock and sounds just like it. After the brilliant Let there be rock album you`d think that no way they could top that but they did with this album. Everything let there be rock has, this album has it too. A rare song appeared around this time too. A song called "Cold Hearted Man' which appeared briefly on the b-side of the single Rock`n`roll Damnation. It could have only been released in Australia too. This album should have been the album that broke AC/DC into the American charts like what highway to hell did a year after, but some stupid people at their American label, Atlantic, weren`t confident enough in the band, and even more laughable is that their American label didn`t like Bon`s vocals, they even wanted the band to get another singer way back in 1976. How wrong these American people from Atlantic were. Hopefully they got the sack after highway to hell went gold in the U.S in 1979. it just goes to show that the fans know more about music and what people like than some business people in suits and ties. Down Payment Blues is my favorite song on the album, it`s a great rockin` tune and not a very well known AC/DC song

Free Music Review: OMG!!
Hit: 5 Stars

If you dont own this album/cd/cassette tape/8 track tape /chipped into your head you must hate life or your mom or my mom!!!

The biggest negative is we cant go back into a time machine to 1978 and meet up at my apartment when I first discovered this jem.

Jem. what a word

Matters not.

If you are under 25 play this baby and play it loud cause you gotz the stamina.
And if you are over 45 play it even louder cause hearing it loud is the last thing you have to worry about losing at this point in your life.

Talking nuances about this is foolish from my standpoint.

There is NOTHING WRONG WITH LATTER ACDC
I dont get into, Bon is better than Brian stuff.
Music is love and all love is good

Having said that, there is something so raw about this moment in their recording history and yet at the same time the exact convergence of physical and meta-physical powers.

In that vein, the only thing missing then would be the song Overdose from an earlier album.
If you know what I mean by that, thanks
If not, cool.

Please, for the sake of Rock and Roll, and possibly humanity, play it and play it loud.

Free Music Review: RIFF-RAFF
Hit: 5 Stars

This is AC/DC's lowest selling album in the U.S. As an AC/DC fan for 30 years. "Powerage" is a little heavier on the blues influence than any of the other albums. Every song is a winner. Anyone who likes AC/DC should have this in their collection.

1. Rock n roll damnation - what a great song this is to open up the album, this is ac/dc in their prime. 10/10
2. Downpayment blues - this is a slower track but features incredible solo's from angus young - 10/10
3. Gimmie a bullet - another great song, the opening is superb with a great verse and a cthch chorus, wonderful stuff - 9.5/10
4. Riff raff - great work from the youngs on this one, great song-9/10
5. Sin city - classic dc- 8/10
6. Whats next to the moon - set by the signature groove of drummer phil rudd - 9/10
7. Gone shootin - another amazing track from dc, another varied classic track - 10/10
8. Up to my neck in you - this is a frentic rocker which will have your fists pounding in the air, another great track - 9.5/10
9. Kicked in the teeth - the riff is very similar to let there be rock, still a good song though as dc give it there all - 8.5/10
