Free Music Notes for Above The Rim: The SoundtrackFree Music Review: WHERE THE HELL IS "PAIN"? Hit: 1 StarsWhere the hell is Pain on this album? Pain was the most HEAVILY used song in the movie and is also Pac's BEST SONG OF HIS ENTIRE CAREER. It is an unbelievable track with amazing lyrics. Why the hell didn't Suge Knight include it on this CD? The only reason I wanted this thing was to hear Pain!!! Don't even bother with this man, get the cassette instead, it includes it. This is pathetic without Pain. It's unbelievable it isn't included on the soundtrack.
Free Music Review: ONE HOT SOUND TRACK Hit: 5 StarsIlove this soundtrack I can get into every song that is played. Nothing but hot jams.
Free Music Review: Solid Soundtrack Hit: 3 StarsThe main reason to own this cd would be 2Pac's "Pour Out A Little Liquor", one of his best in my opinion. Other than that the cd is thin in quality. There are a few good ones, "Jus So Ya No" by CPO-Boss Hog is very solid. 2Pac obviously thought so because he went on to collaborate with CPO on his "All Eyez On Me" double album. Also "Regulate" is good as well as Al B. Sure's cover of Al Green's "I'm Still in Love with You." The main thing reviewers complain about is the exclusion of "Pain", and "Loyal to the Game." These songs are available on cd non-bootlegged but they are highly rare. I'm lucky enough to have one (paid $50 on ebay). The disc was a 4-song promotional cd printed in Germany. The disc is now out of print. The tracks are 1.Regulate (Jamming Mix) 2.Regulate (Radio Version) 3.Pain 4.Loyal to the Game
Free Music Review: Looking for Pain, Loyal to the Game, and Mi Monie Rite??? Hit: 3 StarsI'll give this soundtrack three stars because It does not have two of 2pac's songs on there Pain and Loyal to the Game and Mi Monie Rite by Lord G on the CD soundtrack. If everyone is looking for those three songs. They are both on the TWO Cassettes and a CD single. One is on the Soundtrack BUT it's on cassette as BONUS TRACKS not the CD SOUNDTRACK. Another cassette the two songs are on is the Music From Above the Rim Maxi Single with both songs Pain, and Loyal to the Game on there as well as Part Time lover by H-Town and I'm Still in Love with You by Al B. Sure! Mi Monie Rite by Lord G is not on this cassette single. This tape is very hard to find because it only came out in the summer of 94. The third is a CD single called the Music from Above the Rim Regulate single with the three songs Pain, Loyal to the Game and My Monie Rite. The CD also has Regulate by Warren G. AND Nate Dogg. This CD is also hard to find because it also came out the summer of 94. To find Music From Above the Rim Maxi single on tape and Music From Above the Rim Regulate single on CD you can go on Ebay.com because I got both of them off of Ebay. If yall don't want to do that then just get the soundtrack on cassette not the CD because again Pain, Loyal To the Game and Mi Monie Rite are on the cassette soundtrack as BONUS TRACKS.
Free Music Review: Do The Math... Hit: 4 StarsObviously in the midst of everybody's ranting & raving, noone did the math. (actually, I wouldnt know either if I didnt download the whole CD and burn it myself) The tracks everybodys crying over, "Pain" & "Loyal" wouldnt fit because the CD is already 70+ minutes long and a CD can only hold 80. At the time Pac was not yet signed to Death Row so what do you expect from a guy like Suge Knight? He picked the best Pac song of the three (In my opinion "Pour Out A Lil Liquor" which was also heavily featured in the movie is better than "Pain" and "Loyal...") and filled the rest of the CD with his own Death Row artists. Cassettes allow for longer playing time, so they were able to go to 90 minutes. Couldnt do that for the CD so Pac got cut. I'm sure you would rather have "Pain" on your CD than a whack azz song like "Hoochies Need Love," but the chick that sung "Hoochies.." was signed to Death Row at the time so Suge put it on... Pac was on Interscope at the time so his songs were cut. All in all this soundtrack is hot. West Coast rap right at its finest. Cop the Cd and get the bonus joints from Kazaa. One.
