Free Music Notes for Shhh...Don't TellFree Music Review: Hillarious Hit: 4 StarsAdam Sandler's new album, "Shhh...Don't Tell"is hillarious. The album has twenty tracks, and there are eight songs and fourteen skits. There are also funny guests on the album such as Allen Covert,Rob Schneider, David Spade,Molly Shannon, among others. The best skits are "Sid and Alex", "Gay Robot", "Creepin' On The Mayor", and "The Boss And The Secretary", and the best songs are the "The Mayor Of Pussytown", "Secret", and "Best Friend". "The Mayor Of Pussytown" is a rap comedy, "Best Friend" is making fun of the Queen song "You're My Best Friend", and "Secret", well, you'll just have to hear that one for yourself. So check out "Shhh...Don't Tell". You'll die of laughter.
Free Music Review: shhh... don't tell Hit: 5 StarsFirst off, I'll have to say that the five star rating is pretty much just support for the sand man, considering I'm an enormous fan... three or three and a half stars would have been more honest. With his first album, "They're All Gonna Laugh At You!", it was basically laugh out loud almost every skit.. constantly. "What The Hell Happened To Me?" was a step back, but it was still hysterical, and remains also a classic in my book. Then "What's Your Name?" was pretty forgettable and his fourth LP "Stan and Judy's Kid" just was'nt very funny. "Shhh... Don't Tell!" is better than his last two, but pales in comparison to his first two albums. It starts off with the skit "Sid and Alex", which almost as hysterical as "Assistant Principal's Big Day" from "They're All Gonna Laugh At You". After that I thought I was in for another "They're All Gonna Laugh At You". Next was the first of the four Pibb skits. The skits he uses multiple times likes the "severe beating", "excited southener", and "cool guy" are never very funny, so I was'nt very disappointed by it. "The Amazing Willy Wanker" is sung in a very stupid, annoying sounding fake british accent, but it has a good chorus. After that is "gay robot", which is hilarious. Then there are few really disappointing skits that hurt the record. "creepin on the mayor" is kinda funny, but not really laugh-out-loud funny, then "timmy tinyhole" which would have been funny if I were in the sixth grade, and "Wolfman" has a funny concept, but doesnt get any real laughs. But then "the boss and the secretary", "newlyweds, sleepyheads", "calling home", and "whore! where are you?" are all hilarious and make up for the bad skits, although "the boss and secretary" is a little disgusting for my tastes. As for the songs, "secret", "the mayor of p****town", and "stan the man" are good, but the rest suck, "the mule session" being the worst song adam has ever done. That being said, this is basically half great, and half not very good. I have some friends that pretty much say his gross skits basically rape them via stereo, so like all his albums, it is definitely not for everyone. I would recommend getting his first two, and this. Skip "What's Your Name" and "Stan and Judy's Kid".3 1/2 stars
Free Music Review: Utterly disappointing Hit: 2 StarsThis CD started out great. Sid & Alex was a laugh-out-loud riot. The rest of the CD, however, was just disappointing. Adam Sandler's comedy albums have steadily declined over the years. I still remember listening to They're All Gonna Laugh At You with my friends for the first time. We were literally unable to breathe we were rolling and laughing so hard, and for the next month or so I played that CD until I had the damn thing memorized. The second one wasn't as good but still very funny, with great characters like the Goat. On these last two comedy CDs it seems he's been trying to come up with new characters, which is always good, but the high-pitched old man voice (Whitey from Stan and Judy's Kid and Pibb from this one) is just irritating. And it just doesn't seem like the skits go anywhere.I give the CD two stars because some of the songs were clever. I did like the Eminem spoof (Mayor of Pussytown), but overall definitely not worth it. Skip it and pick up David Cross' new CD instead.
Free Music Review: Great album! Hit: 5 StarsI don't know how anyone could resist Sandler's humorous and at times raunchy attitude. He is the funniest person alive! Ok, so he may not be able to sing. But who cares, he's not trying to be the next American Idol. He's just being himself. You rock Adam!
Free Music Review: Where's the funny? Hit: 2 StarsThis CD is disappointing. Sandler peaked early with "They're All Gonna Laugh At You" and has been going steadily downhill ever since. There are a few funny tracks on here, but most are just ho-hum.
