Free Music Review: simply beautiful

i downloaded this album a month and a half ago and haven't skipped a day not hearing it. this album is breathtaking (i haven't felt this way about an album since radiohead's "the bends"). her voice is beautiful and it holds "emotion". her rendition of dylan's "to make you feel my love" got me teary eyed the first time i heard it. she simply has the ability to sing each song as if it's a "real" story, allowing the listener to really feel what each song is about.
this album is worth every penny and although i want to keep adele a little secret (i have a thing about seeing my favorite performers in small venues, not stadiums - i was fortunate enough to do this with coldplay before their status went all crazy), but a talented gem like adele can't be kept a secret for too long.

I first heard Adele perform on SNL and was really impressed with her vocals (especially since we had seen Kanye West perform on the same show a few weeks earlier and it was absolutely the worst!) My husband surprised me with the cd and since then, I seem to always have it playing in the background. It gives me the same type of feeling I got from John Mayer's Continuum- with it's throwback vibe and moody undertones and fortunately, it doesn't push towards depressing. I haven't been this excited about someone in a while. It's easy to like Adele.
Where I do understand the comparisons to Amy Winehouse, I'd have to point out that she's more like Amy Winehouse without all of the rehab. It makes me happy that I can play this cd without having to cover my children's ears!

Since I purchased this CD I have listened to it repeatedly. It gets better each time! Adele is a fresh new voice on the music scene and she is fantastic. Sometimes it seems like I'm listening to a combination of Nina Simone, Ella Fitzgerald and Adele! Chasing Pavements is one of my favorite tracks along with Hometown Glory. She is headed for stardom and it is so welcome! So many new stars in music can't really sing and she stands out because her voice is a rare blend. I saw Adele on an episode of the View and bought the CD the same day. There is a lot of talent coming out of England and this young English Miss will be a superstar!

She is the best singer by far in her genre. ADELE is amazingly talented and this album proves it. All her songs from beginning to end will leave you speechless. I love her raspy voice and her lyrics. You will never grow tired of this album, her voice or her lyrics. Her lyrics are catchy, and different from any others out there. My favorite songs are :Best For Last, Right As Rain, Tired, and Cold Shoulder, though I love them all. She is an excellent choice. Purchase this CD! You won't regret it, you will thank me! With no knowledge of this artist, I bought this CD only due to the "Artists You Ought to Know" label, which tends to promote artistry over commercial appeal. I was very moved by this CD from Track One to Track Twelve (beginning to end). For one, she has an amazing voice, reminding the listener of her contemporaries Corinne Bailey Rae, Chrisette Michele, and Amy Winehouse. There is a balance of beautiful lyrics and vocal talent. Throughout, she has an unique message and experience in regards to love, pursuing dreams, and living life. This CD is worth adding to your musical collection.
