Free Music Notes for Unstable (Bonus DVD)Free Music Review: adema still rocks Hit: 4 Starsthis cd really surprised me after i bought it. the sound was so much softer from their previous album(s) so at first i wasn't sure what to think. their heavy sound was what made me fall in love with them in the first place. they had the perfect rock sound. but after hearing it a few times, i love it. its a good overall album with songs full of inspiration and motivation. but by far the best song on the album is stand up. i would pay the fifteen bucks for the whole cd just to hear that song. overall its a cd worth buying.
Free Music Review: Unstable-- acid rock at it's best Hit: 5 StarsAdema was introduced to me by a fellow hard core Linkin Park fan. Initially, I thought they were merely alright, because I had heard only 4 songs: Betrayed Me, Unstable, Speculum, and Giving In. All of the afformentioned are great songs by the way. If I could describe Adema's new sound on Unstable in one word, it would be epic. Their music is an interesting alternative to your typical Limp Bizkit which in my opinion has nothing to say, and alot of swearing to say it with. Adema does use some foul language, but it's out of frutration with life, or relationships, not out of sheer boredom-- It doesn't occur that often either. Aside from that, none of it is too servere, it's easily something you could see on a PG-13 movie, or even a TV sitcom. I recommend this album to anyone and everyone, I love it's songs, I'm sure you will too. Some of it, however, is on the light side of my taste spectrum.
Free Music Review: i love it Hit: 5 StarsPeople expect too much between one album and the next. As the saying goes, "An artist cant paint the same picture twice." So to the people whinning about what they were expecting you can go listen to something else if you are dissatisfied. This album is an improvement, in my ears. It is not as hard as the first one which in my opinion had 4 great songs. This one has 11 that i like very much. Whatever number you hope to atleast like on a cd that you buy, its no where close to 11. The vocalist sings more vs. yelling. I would compare the sound of this album to linkin park's meteora when the music is calm and the singer sings. The chorus' are usually harder than the verses and there are some hard songs too. I'd recommend this in a second to a fan of this kind of genre.
Free Music Review: Dissapointment Hit: 2 StarsI didn't know much about Adema when I bought their debut CD. I had heard Giving In and I didn't really expect much from it. Plus it was a gift. But I was blown away. With songs like "Skin" and "Speculum" I thought to myself why hadn't I bought this CD earlier. I loved their first CD and I only wanted more. Adema then came out with an EP to tide fans over while they were waiting for a new CD. "Unstable" came out on August 16, 2003. I put in my CD player and I listened. I expected something powerful like "Everyone" from their debut. Instead I got "Co-Dependent" a song with guitars that sounds very unnatural and very bad lyrics. And then "Rip the Heart Out in Me" came on. I thought the CD was saved. Although some of the lyrics in "Rip the Heart Out in Me" are kind of dumb it is still a good song. It then goes into "Stand Up" which I think would've been a better song if Mark Chavez didn't say stand up over and over again. "Unstable" is the song that they sent into the radio. It's an okay song and if you don't like it then skip this CD. It's what all the other songs are like. All the songs are about relationships (with the exception of "So Fortunate", "Do You Hear Me", and "Needles). "Promises" is another bright spot on the CD. And after that the boys from Adema try really hard to make good, slow, sad songs with meaning and soul. But, they failed. The lyrics are bad, the songs don't flow, Mark Chavez's voice goes too high. "Let Go" is like a song about finding your inner peace. "Needles" is pretty much the only heavy song on the whole CD and even that's bad. It seems to me that Adema has tried to create songs that get an emotion out of you. I wonder how you can get an emotion out of songs with lyrics this bad. It seems like Adema did not write any of these songs with any thought. This CD proves that Adema is just like any other band. They think that just because they are sad and fail with women, they can get by.
Free Music Review: The way you hate it Hit: 2 StarsIt may vary, depending on how much you might have expected from the new release, or how much you dislike the modern pop-metal in general. The sad fact is Adema didn't move much forward since the debut album. Following the trends of the poppy heavier music, bringing nothing new and original, and finally having nothing as much memorable as The Way You Like It and Giving In from their first cd, Unstable is simply destinied to be more or less useless piece of plastic with a nice cover that would be appreciated by the die-hard fans of the band and the rest of the undemanding pop music lovers. The two stars are fairly deserved by Co-Dependent and Needles. The dvd is helpful as well, although the videos are rather as weak and average as the current songwriting talent of the boys.
