Free Music Notes for AerosmithFree Music Review: great start for a great band Hit: 5 StarsOriginally overlooked in 1973 when it came out Aerosmith's debut is an awesome record.Their debut basically became popular in 1976 on the momentum of their career "Toys in the Attic" and "Rocks" being in the charts around that time.1976 "Dream On" got rereleased as a single and went into the top 40 shortly after "Walk this Way" and "Sweet Emotion".Listening to this album it's hard too see why "Dream On" and the album itself didn't become huge hits when they were first released.Of the 8 songs on the album, all 8 are pretty good."Make it" is a song about trying to make as musicians."Mama Kin","Walking the Dog","Somebody","One Way Street","Movin' Out",and "Dream On" were all very good songs and in my opinion "Aerosmith" was a very strong debut album and shot have became a hit instantly. If you love the music Aerosmith put out in the 70's you must have this album.
Free Music Review: "Sing Women, Sing For The Year . . ." Hit: 5 StarsI love Aerosmith and I must say I'm disappointed in the albums after ROCKS. But I can just forget about that ... when I listen to this. This is before "Same Old Song & Dance", "Walk This Way", "Sweet Emotion" & "Dude (Looks Like A Lady)", this is the time of "Dream On" & "Mama Kin" and that type of thing. MAKE IT (Steven Tyler, 3:38)-Good, shows some of Tyler's most snarled out vocals and some of pPerry's best guitar-work SOMEBODY (Steven Tyler and some other guy that isn't in the band, 3:45)- Bluesy and awesome DREAM ON (Steven Tyler, 4:27)- OH JEEZ!!! This is SO cool, how Tyler wrote this song is beyond me ONE WAY STREET (Steven Tyler, 7:00)- Only track that doesn't fit MAMA KIN (Steven Tyler, 4:27)- Awesome. I can even play it on guitar and I'm seven WRITE ME A LETTER (Steven Tyler, 4:10)- Awesome, strangely familiar MOVIN' OUT (Steven Tyler/Joe Perry)- Weird, sorta like "Round & Round" in TOYS IN THE ATTICWALKIN' THE DOG (Rufus Thomas, 3:12)- Good R&B Aerosmith Is: Steven Tyler/Vocals, Keyboards, Joe Perry/Lead Guitar, Backing Vocals, Brad Whitford/Rhythm Guitar, Backing Vocals, Tom Hamilton/Bass guitar, Backing Vocals and Joey Kramer/Drums, Percussion Beetter then TOYS IN THE ATTIC & ROCKS I don't care what they play on the radio Good Aerosmith Albums: AEROSMITH-1973 GET YOUR WINGS-1974 TOYS IN THEE ATTIC-1975 ROCKS-1976
Free Music Review: AEROSMITH Hit: 5 StarsThis is Aerosmith's debut album. Released in 1973. This don't really sound like Tyler's singing now but it still sounds great. Make It- Good song and a good opener for an album the LYRICS remind me of the first song off of Chicago's debut Somebody-Up-tempo hard rockin' love type song Dream On-Aerosmith's best song One Way Street-Great Mama Kin- Guns 'N Roses redid this and changed the lyrics a little bit Write Me A Letter- Mid-Tempo Song Movin'Out-kind of funny about how they always have to move because people don't leave them alone Walkin' The Dog-This is a blues type song it is supposedly a remake but I never heard of the guy who sung it Aerosmith is awesome and they have a bunch of great songs like Janie's Got A Gun Walk This Way Dude Looks Like A Lady Same Old Song And Dance I Don't Wanna Miss A Thing and Livin' On The Edge but I think there best song is Dream On and I think this is their best album.
Free Music Review: Great Album, I love Aerosmith Hit: 5 StarsThis is a really great album. I rememeber the first time I listened to it. It was great. Here are the song reviews: 1. Make It: good show opener, good song to start an album off with. I listened to this one so much. But I remember i was listening to my tape of it and my sister came and pressed record while i was listening to it, and right in the middle of the song you can hear "ah, no!" and then its over. I cried. I was so mad. 2. Somebody: I thought that the guitars sounded so weird. I dont know, It was the first time I heard it and I heard Joe Perry's voice singing in the end and i thought he had the coolest voice. Next to Steven Tyler. I tried to make my voice sound like that. 3. Dream On: I was get nervous after Somebody because I loved this song so much and I didnt want to miss one bit of it. This song is just as good as everybody says it is. If Aerosmith would re-record it in a studio, it would probably sound amazing. yeah i dont wanna do the rest except for walking the dog 8. Walking The Dog: This was my most FAVORITE song for the longest time. Id play it EVEYTIME id go to play my drums and if i didnt play it then id go right back down to the basement to play it. aight there.-JOHN
Free Music Review: More than just DREAM ON Hit: 4 StarsI bought this album for "DREAM ON" which is one of the most wonderful songs ever written. Unfortunately I didn't explore much of the album until I read "Walk this Way". Steven, Joe, Brad, Tom, and Joey didn't really think they gave us much of a classic here but even they were wrong. "MAKE IT" is a clear look into the mind of 5 kids from Boston yearning to be Rock Stars, "DREAM ON" is an obvious classic, "ONE WAY STREET" is a masterpiece of bluesy-rock, and "MAMA KIN" is a staple of the Aerosmith story, although the album track can't do the live version justice. "MOVIN' OUT" and "WALKIN' THE DOG" are also great songs to top of the album. Really only a couple of week spots, but its 30 years old and it still holds up.
