I bought this CD not knowing anything about the Afro-Cuban All Stars except that they play Cuban music. The purpose was to acquire a collection of music reminisicent of my recent trip to Cuba...it worked! I love this group. Their music takes me back to Cuba with the beat, words, and the soothing tune while the trumpets keep the songs upbeat and fast moving. This is music you can listen to either for relaxation or to get you in the mood to go out Latin dancing! I'm definitely going to buy their other CD.Free Music Review: A masterpiece

This album is probably one of the best work on cuban son in the last 10 years. I highly reccommend to anyone interested to learn on the classic cuban music. The power and inspiration of Juan de Marcos is the main essence of this Afro-Cuban All Star. I met him a few years ago at Madrid airport and his kindly attention and generosity enlarge my admiration on him. Thanks a lot for your effort to recover the legacy of cuban music for the new generations.Free Music Review: this cd is the toast of cuban music!

Not others from any country could ever made something like this. Ray Cooder whith his texan slide guitar fit right on to it perfect. Latin Jazz? Cuban Salsa? Mambo? Cuban music in general is all there! Well not quiet by a long shot. Cuban music is to extense to fit in one album. This album is like a sneak preview from what cuba has in store for the world today. Whan I listen to this cd I'm on La Isla Grande. My mind doesn't allow me to stay in Holland. It's no use fighting The Emperors of Son show their face. And behold give in to the Son, it's calling your name to come and dance. Not "A toda cuba le gusta" but A toda del mundo !!
