Free Music Review: Besides the obvious AC/DC comparisons, Airborne also sounds like...
Hit: 3 Stars
...like early Def Lep, Fastway and Cinderella. The vocalist (besides going for the total early Brian Johnson thing) comes off sounding like a yelling Sam Kinison at times, and at others more like Sebastian Bach of skid row. More recently the band Jet also redid this ac/dc sound, though not as metallish. Regardless, new bands copying old styles verbatim will not have a long shelf life and just be a novelty that will wear thin soon. Will you really be listening to this 2 years from now? I mean I'd pay $5 to see Airborne in a local bar every once in a while, but that's it, because they just sound like a decent generic bar band doing faux ac/dc pretty good, which ain't hard to do in the first place.
