Free Music Notes for Lay It DownFree Music Review: Al-back to form!!! Hit: 5 Stars
Fabulous, fantastic!!!
Al Green is truly back to form. It is said you can never go back...well guess again. Mr. Green has accomplished just that! He is back to his soulful, sexy, longing sound from back in the day when hit after hit came out in the 70's. If you yearn for the music that you so loved from that era this c.d. truly delivers just that. Formulaic??? Soooo what! Good music is good music!
"Lay It Down" is a "must have" for all, especially for Al Green fans.
Free Music Review: Al "lays it down", once again. Hit: 5 Stars
I bought this CD for my dad for Fathers Day. I knew he loved the "old School" music of Al Green. To my surpise, I eneded up liking it so much, I bought a copy for myself. This CD is a blend of old school and new school brought together in a way that only Al's spirit could facilitate. Loved by the young, old, and the in between... bringing in new flavors like Corrine Bailey Rea and others. Enjoy this soulful multi-generational intermix.
Free Music Review: Real music from a real artist! Hit: 5 Stars
I was raised on Al Green's music fresh from the 70s and he has been consistent ever since with his artistry. He is a pioneer and classic soul singer who has laid the foundation for present day artists such as John Legend and Anthony Hamilton. I won't use the phrase 'he's still got it' because he's never lost it. Thank God for Al Green ....he's anointed and blesses the world with his undeniable, unmistakeable voice and sound.
Free Music Review: Awesome Al Hit: 5 Stars
Having been an Al Green fan from the 70's, its great to hear his silky smooth groove again! Takes you back yet sounds new and hip as ever! Al's got it goin' on from the opening with "Lay it Down." Slide into "You've Got the Love I Need" & "What More Do You Want From Me" to get you moving. "Take Your Time" is a slow, sexy song with Corrine Baily Rae that's sure to please! Al hasn't missed a step - good to hear him back!
Free Music Review: Soul Satisfaction Hit: 5 Stars
Lay It Down is an amazing statement. This is among the most satisfying discs I've listened to in years. It delivers right up the middle in the sweet spot of staying true to who Al Green is (no silly attempts to sound like an erstwhile 20 year old) while somehow seeming totally fresh, deep, and tight. Man - good, good stuff. The title track and Take Your Time are highlights (reinforcing Rae's position as a force).
