The songs on it are classics. To me, this is the album that set
the highest mark of Al's career. Every artist has that ONE album
that is their best, and this is Al's. This album is a MUST in
your collection.

Breakin' Away is definitely a classic Al Jarreau album to own. I grew up listening to A.J. because of my mom and I heard this, as well as several other albums of his throughout my childhood. This might be my favorite Al Jarreau album. My favorite tracks on this one are: "My Old Friend", "Breakin' Away", and "Blue Rondo", but the whole album is great all together. I recommend you to also listen to his album This Time as well, they sound almost the same and sound great together.Free Music Review: Moonlight Margarita

I bought this for Jarreau's classic "WE'RE IN THIS LOVE TOGETHER" but discovered so much MORE. Every cut is just TERRIFIC! The venerable "TEACH ME TONIGHT" has never been arranged or performed so beautifully and "OUR LOVE" is a sensuous treat for the ears. Listening to this CD is like a moonlit evening on a Caribbean beach - warm, breezy, and unforgettable. Bring your margarita, settle back on the sand and enjoy.Free Music Review: Simply the best!

I just heard WE'RE IN THIS LOVE TOGETHER on my headset at work.
It's still as good as it was the first time I heard it (on vinyl) in the early 80's...
I've seen Jarreau in concert and he's quite the entertainer.
The songs on this CD will make you smile...you can't help yourself...when you hear ROOF GARDEN, you'll be tapping your toes and grinning from ear to ear.

Still as fresh today as 20 years ago. A perfect exmaple of how Al Jarreau's music is uplifting and fun. In heaven maybe I'll have his vocal range, power and emotion but I think the mold was broken. He shattered it himself with one of his long scats. This disc is a classic. If you have never bought a Jarreau or jazz CD but think you might like one....this is the one to get.
