Free Music Notes for Tomorrow TodayFree Music Review: "HONEY, AL'S HOME!" Hit: 5 Stars
Fabulous! Fabulous! Fabulous! Well worth the long wait since the last album. Thrilled to see Al with the GRP family. I've played the album a zillion times and can't get enough of it! Al's in top form, the music backing him up is top of the line. The production, etc.; it's a wonderful product. Saw Al at the Bermuda jazz festival in October 1999 and was very disappointed with his performance -- he didn't sing anything anyone knew and in general seemed not with it that night. At the time he said that he had a new album out in 2000. Was skeptical. But, since I own just about all of Al's albums, went ahead and purchased it anyway. I am SOOOO glad I did! My husband says that the album MORE than makes up for the dry concert performance.Best Tune: "Tomorrow Today" It's H-O-T! Keep it up Al, & may your tenure with GRP be long! Least Favourite: "Puddit" although it showcases Al's voice, there's no music and it disrupts the unity of the rest of the album
Free Music Review: Smooth And Silky Hit: 5 Stars
A versatile, genre-jumping vocalist equally at home scat-singing, warbling jazz tunes or emoting on Latin-pop and R&B ballads, Jarreau is too often dismissed as a lightweight. Returning after a six-year hiatus with a new album of polished pop tunes, the five-time Grammy winner lends his expressive baritone to the finger-popping love song "Last Night" and the propulsive "In My Music." But even when he lets it rip, Jarreau will never be confused with any of R&B's flashy power-balladeers. His modulated, nuanced songs are laden with the sort of shimmering arrangements associated with easy-listening jazz. Mellow is the word here, and Jarreau's approach, which often emphasizes technique over intensity, may not be everyone's cup of chamomile. And yet when he digs in, as he does on the gorgeous and atmospheric "Something That You Said," he is passion personified.
Free Music Review: Album of the Year Contender Hit: 5 Stars
It is very rare in this day to find an artist who can communicate with just plain heartfelt and unabashed passion and unconditional love which irresistably evokes and commands an upbeat spirit of play. In this regard, Al Jarreau is a truly great artist. The album commands your participation and sweeps you away. It is breathtakingly beautiful. Should this latest offering from Jarreau serve as a yardstick by which all future aspiring vocalists judge themselves? I sure hope so. "Tomorrow Today" could certainly wend its way into into the heart and soul of society and be embraced by all people. Why? Because it is great music and because it is genuine.

Free Music Review: Tomorrow Today is Al Jarreau at the top of his form Hit: 5 Stars
Al Jarreau is doing his thing as only Al Jarreau can on this CD! "Just To Be Loved" is the first track and it sets the tone for a CD full of great music. Al gets mellow, romantic, playful and more. It's hard to say which song is my favorite, but "Last Night", and "Somethin you Said" are played over and over. Rick Braun, Boney James and Vanessa Williams are helping Al out. I'm telling you this; Al Jarreau is just as I remember him to be on this CD and it is a must have for fans old and new. I'm looking forward to seeing him in concert this spring. You need to order this CD today!
