I have been an Al fan for...let's see...20 years now, and have all of his music. To say that this, like all of the previous Cds, is wonderful is an under statement. From the first track to the last, the smooth tunes stay in your head and you find yourself humming (maybe a bit of doo-wop too) all through the day. If you are reading reviews to decide whether to buy this, don't waste any more time...go to your local music store and give yourself a gift. This album brings me back to the concert that I had a great pleasure of attending, three years ago in Seattle. The man is great! All of his albums are good. But this one is especially nice, because it shows Al Jarreau at his "groovy" best, even though he is in his 60s. His music and his voice always manage to lift my spirits. I love and thank him for that. My favorite song on this album is "Tomorrow Today" (its title speaks for itself)...this song is a great way to start your day. It has been 6 long years since his last effort Tenderness Now he is finally back with another great effort .. Jarreau continues to mix r n b, jazz, pop together in to a infectioness sound that should keep his long time listeners happy for some time to come.. He hasnt lost it still sounds great .. I haven't heard the CD yet. However, I have heard just about every CD that Al Jarreau has made. And have yet to be dissapointed. Having seen him in concert several times I can't imagine why any lover of music would not love Al. His music is always fresh, exciting and inovative, like him! I don't have this album --- yet! But if the rest of the album is as good as "Just to Be Loved".. then it is an Instant Classic!"Just to be Loved" is one of the most beautiful songs AJ has ever sung. The first time I heard this song --- in the first moments of listening to it --- I knew that this album would be in my collection!
Each time I hear it on the radio I immediately triple the volume! Excellence!
