Free Music Notes for Like Red on a RoseFree Music Review: Amazing Hit: 5 StarsWhat talent from this cowboy! I can definitely feel the Alison Kraus influence on this one.
Free Music Review: seduced by Alison Krauss Hit: 2 StarsDon't get me wrong I LOVE "Alison Krauss", I could listen to her sweet voice for hours. With the blend of captivating sounds of Union Station, she is one of a kind. All I can figure is Alan must've fell into a trance with her playing that fiddle like the pied piper, forced him to record a whole album surrounded by posters & photos of Kenny Rogers & Shelby Lynne.(lately, she used to be awesome)I have been a long time fan of Alan Jackson, since "Here In The Real World", followed him from the beginning. His tour with "Randy Travis" was phenomenal. Every album has only shown his progress as a true country artist. "Like Red On a Rose" is a flop without a doubt. The only song that stands out at all is #9 "a Woman's Love." It is also the only song written by Jackson. But the song is only a remix version with heavier guitars, slower, sway-back, layed back style. The original COUNTRY version can be found on the 1998 "High Mileage" cd. As I always do, I awaited this release only to be disappointed. I would have gladly waited for four years for his next release if he would've just skipped this one. I give this album 2 stars because it's Alan Jackson. If he had written some it would've been better.
Free Music Review: Great Love CD Hit: 5 StarsAlan Jackson's voice can make your heart melt. This is great CD for a romantic evening.
Free Music Review: Depths and shading Hit: 5 StarsReally enjoyed this new album. Has a lot of depth and kind of a smoky, melancholy richness to it. Reveals more of Alan Jackson's full talents.
Free Music Review: ok, but not usual Alan Jackson Hit: 3 StarsI've only listened to this cd once, and it was ok, but clearly not a usual Alan Jackson sound. Allison Krauss produced it, and it is evident that her style is reflected in the music. I'm glad Alan Jackson was able to explore a new sound, make a different cd, but sometimes it seems he is uncomfortable with the venue. It is an ok cd, but after I listened to it, I had to put an "Alan Jackson" cd in the player to listen to "Drive" etc, just to hear the real Alan.
