I just love this gospel CD, this beautiful soothing music, touched my soul! Alan Jackson's smooth and deep clear, velvet voice is just perfect! This is another handsome man with a awesome voice! If you wish to hear the best gospel music that you could ever wish for, then this CD is just for you!
It is filled with ole-timey hymns of long ago, I remember hearing these hymns and singing them standing beside my great-grandmother in church, when I was a little girl! These very old, and very special songs have a awesome history to them, in how they where written and came to be, so sometime check out the history of these classic songs you will be surprised at what you will learn!
Some of the new Christian music that is the "In" thing now are very good songs, and very outstanding! BUT I wished churches would not forget to sing, and include the old songs with the new ones ,in their worship service, because to me the old hymns are THE VERY BEST ONES OF ALL! Because they are classic legends in gospel music, and deserved to be remembered and not forgotten!!!! Some of my favorites from the CD are the following:
IN THE GARDEN-(This is my great-grandmother's favorite song. This song can bring tears to your eyes, and it can touch your soul! This is one of the best songs ever written!)
BLESSED ASSURANCE-(I just love this song, and the way it sounds!)
SOFTLY AND TENDERLY-(This song always tugs at your heart!)
I LOVE TO TELL THE STORY-(I love the words!)
WHEN WE ALL GET TO HEAVEN-(This upbeat song gives you hope!)
I'LL FLY AWAY-(This song makes you feel like you can fly up to heaven, any minute!)
WHAT A FRIEND WE HAVE IN JESUS-(This song made me realize long ago, that Jesus can be your friend too!)
'TIS SO SWEET TO TRUST IN JESUS-(This is a great song,and I like the way it sounds! Alan's wife and two daughters join in on this song!)
ARE YOU WASHED IN THE BLOOD-(I love this old song!)
STANDING ON THE PROMISES-(I love the great words, and the way that it sounds!)
LEANING ON THE EVERLASTING ARMS-(This is another one of my favorites!)
THE OLD RUGGED CROSS-(This is another one of the best songs ever written! A classic legend, that always touches my tender heart!)
HOW GREAT THOU ART-(This is another all-time classic legend! It will make your spirit soar!)
I highly recommend this wonderful CD! It has top quality sound, and THE MUSIC IS JUST PERFECT and Alan Jackson, and all the musicans, and sound techs and everyone, did a OUTSTANDING, AWESOME job, into putting this CD together! And whoever picked out these songs for this CD, did a remarkable job of CHOOSING SOME OF THE ALL TIME GREATEST GOSPEL SONGS, EVER WRITTEN!
