Beauty and the Beast is one of the greatest Disney movies of all time. The tale told there is unmatchable. I loved the songs from the movie and I was not disappointed when I ordered the CD. The thing that surprised me most was how much the actors sounded like the actual cartoon version. Definitely money well spent.Free Music Review: Expanding on the Original.

If one is familiar with the animated movie, the songs are a treat. The new additional songs on the CD are also plot driven, which made the original seem like a stage musical to begin with. If one ever has a chance to see the musical performed live, all the better, as the stage scenes play in the mind while listening to this CD. It is also fun to hear other voices of other actors perform the familiar songs. Free Music Review: If you like Disney and show tunes, you'll like this!

First i want to say some of the vocals aren't the best but they are pretty good, but other than that, this cd is amazing. I saw the play recently and feel in love with the songs. If you liked the movie, you SHOULD get some form of the soundtrack because the songs are great. My favorites on this CD are:
Belle, Something There, Maison Des Lunes, Home, and the Entr' Acte.

This review is comming from sombody who has the pleasure of staring in the musical. I played Cogsworth in my High School's performance of Beauty and the Beast. Don't let that deter you, our high school does some great shows, just two years earlier, in face, we did Les Miserables. I was always a fan of the animated movie as a child and having the opprotunity to star in the show was a true honor. This soundtrack definetly holds up the standard of Beauty and the Beast to all. The vocals are very well done and each character is very well represented through voice. There are many musical interludes where dance would be, and thankfully they are still included in this soundtrack. That may be something that differs children from listening, as there are many moments where they will not here their favorite characters singing. However, the orchestration is beautiful and you can truly feel the setting. For any fan of the animated series or the musical, this is a wonderful piece of music to add to your collection.
