Free Music Notes for Little Shop Of Horrors (1986 Film)

Free Music Review: Amazing, despite some problems
Hit: 4 Stars

This is a great musical, and accordingly a great movie. I thought the cast as a whole was great, Steve Martin and Rick Moranis especially. The songs were all done extremely well (except for Somewhere that's Green, in my opinion. Just took too long). The songs Dentist and Skid Row were done particularly well.

I was however, disappointed that the songs that were taken out, were taken out. Now (It's Just the Gas) and Mushnik and Son are my favorites from the show, and it's sad that they weren't included.

Free Music Review: The Greatest Musical Of All Time - Yet Not The Best On Film
Hit: 4 Stars

The film is great, but not as good as seeing it live. I've seen this 7 times live, and I've seen this movie many, many times. BUT - the movie deletes many of the show's numbers - atleast 5, which takes away the fun from the soundtrack. "Some Fun Now" is just an embarrassing new rendition of "Ya Never Know" from the show. BUT - atleast the songs they have are performed excellent. Steve Martin does "Dentist!" great, and Levi Stubbs is excellent as Audrey II.

I love this soundtrack! LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS (original motion picture soundtrack)cd is great. The songs all sound like they from the 50s and 60s, that do-wop sound, but the real gems are the greek chorus girls from the movie(Tisha Campbell, Tichina Arnold, Michelle Weeks).

The reason I didn't give 5-stars is because this cd needs to be remastered. Although it says that it's a "digital recording," the volume is really low so you have to crank it up.

Free Music Review: Great Soundtrack
Hit: 4 Stars

Nice adaptation of the show to the screen. Rick Moranis in the best part of his career. And having Ellen Greene preserved on film as Audrey is wonderful. One of the best musical comedy performances of the 80's. Too bad the original was an Off-Broadway production. She deserved a Tony.

I just love this CD!! My high school just did this musical and I was Audrey, so it was lots of fun to listen to the songs after I had done them. I really like the music because it is so upbeat, never dragging in tempo. a must for anyone's collection!
