Free Music Notes for Time Without ConsequenceFree Music Review: Hauntingly Beautiful Hit: 5 Stars
As one of his earlier fans, I have been waiting for this cd for close to a year and a half. This album includes three songs released on his Four Songs EP, but Orange Sky and Blue Mind have each been rerecorded. The best songs on this cd are all my days, wait, and shine. All my days is very reminiscent of Nick Drake and the other two are simply heartfelt songs written with eloquence and beauty. This is one of the best cds of 2006, if not the best. Please enjoy.
Free Music Review: Finally, the full album - worth the wait Hit: 5 Stars
Alexi Murdoch stands out amongst today's up and coming singer songwriters. With songs like Breathe, Orange Sky and A Song for You, Murdoch is setting the tone in today's folk scene. The way he melds his vocals and guitar is reminiscent of Nick Drake and some of Cat Stevens' acoustic music. But he is really his own thing. If you ever get a chance to see him live, it is well worth it - like the wait for this full length CD.
Free Music Review: Lovely to listen to, time and time again Hit: 5 Stars
I found Alexi Murdoch quite by chance, and began knowing him by downloading a couple of songs from Amazon. I soon realized I'd be better off with the whole CD. I've been listening to it a lot, and really enjoy Murdoch's style and lyrics. He has a deep, almosy hypnotic voice, with a rolling Scottish accent, and his ballads are elaborate, with complex arrangements and good playing. I'm now hoping he'll have a new CD out soon.
Free Music Review: Nothing less than superb! Hit: 5 Stars
I have been listening to Alexi Murdoch singles for years. I even bootlegged a few (shame, shame, shame). I'm happy to say that when the album came out, I bought it right away. Great driving music. Makes you feel as though you are in a movie. Cool syncopated rhythms. The type of music you can listen to, or jus play in the background. Enjoy!
Free Music Review: Thank you... Hit: 5 Stars
I can't tell you the last time I heard an artist that put me in this kind of trance. Joni Mitchell? Steven Stills? Radiohead? I'm listening to the CD right now. It's overwhelming. I have to thank the River 92.5 for turning me on to such unbelieveable music. Please play at the Red Hook Brewery in Portsmouth, NH soon. OMG. Take me now.
