I wanted the song Ai Du that was in the movie Unfaithful. I bought the Unfaithful soundtrack. The song was not on the soundtrack. After much research online I found the song Ai Du, which is on Talking Timbuktu. I listened to the entire CD and fell in love with it. It is the origin of Blues at its absolute best. Came across this CD by accident, being a fan of Ry Cooder. Bought it on impulse, and fell in love. I had been searching for the kind of music that connected with the natural rhythms that the best world music inspires, and found it here. I first heard this album 5 years ago when travelling across the West. Came to love the rhythms and meditative singing while driving, and also had some really good dancing with some of the faster tunes. I first heard the track Ai Du while watching the movie Unfaithful. When I heard this song, I immediately went on a wild search looking for this music. It was like my soul yearned to hear it again. I loved this CD. I was unfamiliar with the artist, Ali Farka Toure, hearing only clips from one of the pieces on a NPR program. The guitar playing is masterful, the songs are melodious. I highly recommend this CD to anyone who wants to listen to soemthing a little different from the mainstream.Cindi
