Free Music Review: The Nightmare Continues....THANKFULLY!
Hit: 5 Stars

I have had a promo of this CD for a month and it has not been out of my CD player since. This CD brings Alice back to his roots of originality. From the start there are many riffs that will bring the listerner back to such classics as Welcome To My Nightmare. In fact Track 1 reminds me of the classic Department of Youth from that same album. Most of the familiar sounds are from his 70's era. There is not one disaapointment on the entire CD. The 80's were a time that Alice tried to keep up musically with an atempt to get in on the new wave sounds ("Clones..") then the 90's more metal but in 2008 he is BACK to what he does best. Yes I have enjoyed most of the trip from the 70's and just when I thought it was ending Along Came A Spider. Not since he released Alice Cooper Goes To Hell have I been as excited to have a new Alice Cooper album. Older fans will come back and those who have never walked away will be thrilled as am I. The only problem is that FM radio doesn't hold many spots for airing new music from older artists. However, with some luck, this will be aired on XM and Sirius radio. Do not pass on this CD.

Free Music Review: All Hail Alice
Hit: 5 Stars

From the man who paved the way for groups such as KISS and acts such as Marilyn Manson, comes the latest project that takes those who have grown up listening to him back to his roots as the King of Concept and introduces the idea of the concept album to a whole new generation of listeners. This project takes everyone back to Alice's dark side with lyrics such as "..which limb will I choose, which one gets sawed in half..." to "...where could you feel the knife, was it your final thought..." and "You look like you'd fit in the trunk of my car..." but then in true Alice fashion, camps it up with lyrics like "You've got some taste on your face, you've got some scare in your hair, you've got some rock in your walk, and some hips in your slip..."
This is a must have for any long standing Alice collection and a good introduction to an artist who can show the "American Idol" led sheep out there that true music, true rock and roll music, true should be in the rock and roll hall of fame music, can also be found outside of what the powers that be want them to listen to. Break out people, this CD is a good place to start.

Free Music Review: Coop, you're so sick!
Hit: 5 Stars

First let me say to those that don't think there's a single here....are you kidding? Vengeance is Mine sounds like a hit to me. Slash's guitar work adds that heavy metal edge to this outstanding track. Now that that is out of the way, this is Alice' most complete album in a long time. Far superior to Dirty Diamonds. Who else but twisted Alice could get away with writing a concept album about a serial killer named Spider. I'm on my third listen; first in my home stereo, then in my cd player using ipod headphones, and now with my Bose headphones. The sound is just raw enough to have a knife edge to it and the vocals are vintage Coop. Ozzy Osbourne co-writes and contributes harmonica on Wake the Dead. If there is a weak track I can't find it. Eric Singer plays the most solid I've heard in quite a while. Chuck Garric brings solid bass to every track and Danny Saber more than proves his worth. This is the album I've waited for and, though I've got it on cd, I can't wait for my vinyl copy!

P.S. Marilyn Manson is just a poseur! Long Live Alice!

Free Music Review: Vengeance Is Mine!
Hit: 5 Stars

A great album by Alice Cooper. This album reminds me of the Alce Cooper Band here and there. The evidence lies directly in the song "Wrapped In Silk" it's got the old school "oohhh oooh"s of the original band. Okay the immediate hit here is "Vengeance is Mine". We all knew in the first time we went to his site and found that "Wimpy Player" before it had its current layout (Psycho video, blood, etc..) Kept making you return and listen to it again, right? Most of the people here were hooked in that one song, one month before we knew anything else. Oh, yeah Happy 61 Alice. A very grim story line. Guy goes around, kills one chick at a time, takes a leg from each, and a torso from another, and makes a giant spider out of body parts. The "Steven" bit from "Welcome To My Nightmare" really caught me by surprise. I wonder what he's doing in this story. Wait this probably has something to do with "The Black Widow". I gotta look into that.

Free Music Review: It's ooky and it's spooky...
Hit: 5 Stars

Steven is alive and....not well. This album harkens back to the days of "Welcome To My Nightmare" and "Dada." I listened to it one night as I was going to sleep and I actually had a nasty nightmare!!! As usual there is a"ballad" ("Killed By Love") which has single potential if radio actually played decent stuff these days. The song "Salvation" kinda sticks out here ("one of these songs is not like the others..."). It's kind of like a pinpoint of light but there is so much darkness! If you like Horror plots set to music you'll love this. Definitely clas-SICK Alice! If you listen to this album and don't realize that Alice still has what it takes and MORE then YOU are the one who needs a straight-jacket. Alice blows everybody away...old or new!
