Free Music Notes for Along Came A SpiderFree Music Review: Cooper delivers a solid CD Hit: 5 Stars
Music is always a personal decision about what you like or dislike. My husband didn't. He prefers Brutal Planet or Dragon Town. While I absolutely loved both of those albums, I still really enjoy Along Came A Spider. Of course, I liked Lace & Whiskey, so maybe that shows my range of Alice Cooper a little better. For the price I paid, If I only had 2 songs I liked it would have been worth it. Luckily, I enjoy it as a whole. Which as a concept style album is the way I believe it is meant to be enjoyed. If you are a true Cooper fan, you've probably purchased/listened to worse. In my opinion - Da Da comes to mind. You can always sample it or check the sites to hear it before you buy it, so you really have very little to lose. :)
Free Music Review: Alice at his Best. Hit: 5 Stars
This is a great album. Alice has returned to the psychopathic killer genre. And that's that best kind. While I don't think much of the cover picture, it's the music that counts. One of the best tracks is "Vengeance is mine". Slash sounds great on the guitar and Alice's roaring vocals are as good as ever. The first and last tracks are a pleasure to the ears, the first one is especially creepy and it's just awesome. "Killed by Love" is another good track, displaying vocals that are seldom used by Alice, but still sound great. Anyone who disapproves of this album and calls them self an Alice Cooper fan, or a rock/metal fan in general, is just an idiot without brains.
THIS ALBUM ROCKS!!!!!!!!
Free Music Review: Along Came A Spider Hit: 5 Stars
This is an amazing album! Alice out did himself again. It's a great story album, just like Welcome To My Nightmare and The Last Temptation. I would actually consider it part 3 of those other two. Once again, Alice has proven his genious and originality. I would recommend this album to anyone.
Now, amazon on the other had, leaves a lot to be desired. I ordered the special edition vinyl with this too and they ruined it in the mail. I filed for a replacement and they said they were out of stock. But if I returned it, they would refund my money. I think they should have replaced the damaged item or refunded my money and let me keep the damaged item. But, you know how it goes...
Free Music Review: Great Album Hit: 5 Stars
I have been a fan of cooper for years, and have seen him twice live. This new album fits right in with the classics like Billion Dollar Babies and Welcome to My Nightmare. From opening to close, this is a nice mix of his "newer" sound (like brutal planet and dragontown) to his older moody classics (like Nightmare). The Prologue and Epilouge are overall sinister, and set up a flow to the album, which brings Steven, cooper's recurrent tortured character back to life during the songs in this album. Vengence is Mine is one of my favorite tracks, along with Wake the Dead, Killed by Love, and I am the Spider. This is a great intro for new fans, and a delight for old fans. Pick this album up.
Free Music Review: Surprisingly good!!! Hit: 5 Stars
I have always liked Alice Cooper. But not since "Welcome to my Nightmare" has one of his albums been so consistent. What I mean by that is one could take out the breaks between the songs and it would work as one long song. With each victim(song) there's another personality, another great hook,(which is refreshing compared to most hard rock bands focusing mostly on guitar solos over musical depth), another great nightmare. Most older rockers who still drop albums don't get any airplay or promotion from record companies. But if you miss this album, it would be a shame. Give it a listen, you won't regret it.
