Just got the new CD. Wow, great. "Along came a spider" rocks, Excellent lyrics, riffs, and a solid, heavy sound that is very consistent, like a knife cutting but in a good way. Just a note, the CD shows Alice Cooper's sense of humor and showmanship so the album has a creepy touch to give the listener the touch of the "chill" but in the good way, like Michael Myers or Jason jamming to the beat with their knives and axes, instead of jamming them into you. However, who would dare say anything bad about this CD when one of the songs says "vengeance is mine??????"Free Music Review: Lonnie21

I'm listening to "Along Came a Spider" for the fourth consecutive time as I'm writing this and with each play I slip further and further into my youth. Suddenly it's 1977 again. Fan-freakin'-tastic!
I have a friend who is an Alice Cooper impersonator who has met Alice several times and he gave me the heads up on this album, nearly begging me to listen to it. Daaaaang! There isn't a weak sister in this group! I am absolutely in love with "Vengence Is Mine"!

Alices' newest release is his best since TLT and this one has strong tie ins with Welcome To My Nightmare. You gota give thumbs up to the Coop. Who in his generation keeps on releasing releasing such awesome albums? Not many I can recall. While his peers are either finished or releasing greatest hits packages over and over the Coop delivers NEW awesome material... something they can't seem to do. ALICE COOPER has the courage to shock rock us with a new kind of thing!Thanks for not releasing, what we (fans) expected - to be later diapointed, that it doesn't sound like...you know what I mean??? The CD needs to be played several times to find the hammer songs, that will last. Funny thing is, that the balldads could be the next generation of concert highlights (Killed by Love/Salvation) and not the spider, killing stuff. Alice is back to basics, but I was amazed at the creapy-ness of it all. As I listened for the first time, I thought that only Alice could get away with this. Anyone else would have the FBI out looking for bodies.
The album has a bit of everything. A lot of gritty Alice and some pretty Alice, like a ballet titled Killed by Love. The strongest tune, I think, is the final cut, I am the Spider.
