Free Music Notes for Along Came A Spider

Free Music Review: Love Alice, okay album
Hit: 4 Stars

I guess I got spoiled by Brutal Planet and DragonTown earlier this decade- this is a very servicable album by Alice but not much more than that. Right in line with last one Dirty Diamonds. I think Brutal Planet from 2000 was his best album EVER though (and I have them all) so its pretty tough for me to compare this favorably to that.

Free Music Review: BETTER than Dirty DIamonds
Hit: 5 Stars

THANKFULLY Alice has put something 100 times better than Dirty Diamonds. Along Came a Spider rocks harder than his previous two efforts combined and it was worth the wait.

Free Music Review: A little disappointing, but still a good album
Hit: 4 Stars

I have been a fan of Alice Cooper for a long time and loved his last few releases. I really wanted to love this album to, but found it a little lacking. It doesn't have the same catchy rhymes found on "Dirty Diamonds" or "The Eyes of Alice Cooper". That would be OK if it had a heavy sound like "Brutal Planet" or "Dragontown", but that wasn't there either. I did not care for it after the first listen. It sounded more like the extremely early Alice Cooper and seem to have a very weak guitar sound. The biggest mistake I made was listening to it directly after listening to the new Metallica CD "Death Magnetic", which is like comparing apples to oranges. After going back and listening to the CD a couple more times I was able to appreciate it for what it is. It DOES have some good guitar, just not heavy. It's not one of my favorite Cooper CDs, but it is a good album worthy of four stars.

Free Music Review: Pretty Good and Very Welcome
Hit: 3 Stars

While it's always nice to hear a new one from Alice, this record is inferior in every way to his last one, which was a kickin' great fun rock and roll record with a great band, great songs and a cool nod to Detroit. It's a drag that fans always seem to await a return to the "Welcome To My Nightmare" period. That album had a (lousy) hit, but was nowhere near as good as "Killer", "Love It To Death" or "Billion Dollar Babies". Still, Alice rocks, and I'm enjoying this new one - just not as much as the last one.

Free Music Review: Alice!?
Hit: 4 Stars

Big Alice Cooper fan since 1972. Have collected every album since PRETTIES FOR YOU. Always excited for new Alice. Very glad I bought it and would replace this cd without hesitation, however, this has taken a little bit to grow on me. (this is a first) It is good. I love watching him live and I would love to see this show as well. Very happy to hear Eric Singer again. FYI I am just turning 56 years old. Alice Forever!!
