Free Music Notes for Nothing SafeFree Music Review: What's safe? Nothing's safe!! Hit: 5 Stars
ALice in chains...the mere mention of the band name evokes guitar sounds that are as inspiring as they are spooky, uncommon time signatures in many songs, deep, personal lyrics and harmonic vocals from two of the best singer-songwriters in rock history. This album is a great introduction to ALice in chains for those who never had an AIC album, or just heard more about it because of vocalist Layne Staley's death not long ago or from guitarist/ vocalist Jerry Cantrell's succesful recent albums and tour. Mostly all the familiar singles are here (i still dont understand why "Heaven beside you" wasnt included) and all the brooding, awesome sound that goes with AIC are all here too. The two new tracks are great too, with "Get Born Again" serving as a great opener to the disc. Overall, an incredible collection of AIC's best and a collection that will forever live in rock immortality. No down in the hole here, and please dont get me wrong on that. Thanks for reading.

All too often great bands are overlooked because they don't "sell out." Alice in Chains are one of those bands. I was very impressed to see latly, however, that they choose to release a box set, music video set, live CD, and a compilation CD of their greatest hits from their box set, namly this CD. I listened to Nothing Safe at my friends house, left when it was over, and bought it immediatly. This is a MUST HAVE for any AIC fan, hands down. Nothing Safe includes a live version of Rooster and the Unplugged version of Got Me Wrong, to name a few. This is a CD that you can't listen to one or two songs off of and then put away. All the greatest songs, written by one of the greatest bands to come out of the 90's ON ONE CD. I highly recommend this to any AIC fan, grung fan, rock and roll fan, or just anyone looking for a new favorite CD. This is it.
Free Music Review: A nice addition to your AIC collection, but get the studio albums first. Hit: 5 Stars
This cd is a great addition, because it is the best greatest hits collection they have released. It includes a new song, "Get Born Again" which became a hit single as well. It was the last we heard from Layne before he died. This album is missing a few of their hits, like "Heaven Beside You", "Over Now", and "Sea of Sorrow", but that is my only gripe.
I really recommend buying this as a supplemental piece of the AIC collection, because the studio albums are so strong.
Another cool thing is they include "What the Hell Have I?" from the Last Action Hero soundtrack, which is one of their best songs. That soundtrack can be hard to get ahold of these days. (LAH also includes "A Little Bitter", another hard to find AIC song, on that soundtrack.)
This is a great cd to put in at a party.
Free Music Review: Alice is back with a vengeance!!! Hit: 5 Stars
My god! If I am dreaming, I don't want to wake up. Alice in Chains is the most underrated Metal band in history and this CD proves it. For the casual fan, this disc is probobly more important, but for the rest of us it only repeats the classic music that we hardcore fans have trumpeted for all the years Chains has been around. "Get Born Again" sounds like it was lifted straight out of "Dirt", and life couldn't be better. I say a prayer to the Metal God every night begging the return of the best band of the 90"s. Please oh please, Metal God, you let Metallica wander, broke up Soundgarden and let Alice fall. Help Layne and Jerry climb back and give us a new chapter for our bible of Alice. Next year, I want a FULL album of new stuff. Save us all, for nothing is safe!
