Free Music Review: Alicia, I Applaud You!
Hit: 5 Stars

9x Grammy Award-winner Alicia Keys has now hit her fans with this terrific set of live music. There's really not much to review, so this won't be a lengthy review.

The performances of her now-classic hits are exceptional. Of the new songs, "Unbreakable" (the 1st single) is hands-down the best; "Love It Or Leave It Alone" (w/Mos Def & Common) is a shining track as well.

I'm a HUGE Alicia fan because of her musicianship which is probably why people always say that she's the best female vocalist out at this time. Alicia's a great musician, but Beyonce & Fantasia have her beat by miles when it comes to actually singing. Alicia is just set apart from them because she did something that was heavily needed in the R&B scene when she debuted in 2001 -- she took us R&B fans back to some of the classic soul of the '60s & '70s.

Don't get me wrong, she's still one of the ultimate best of today, but people are treating her musicianship the wrong way. Sure, she's one of the best musicians that I've had the pleasure of listening to (I have all 3 OF HER ALBUMS!), but Beyonce has the voice of a goddess. I have to say this because I've noticed people saying that Keys has a better voice than Beyonce, which is not true. And Fantasia? Don't get me started on her. Ms. Idol has Keys on lock when it comes to the vocals.

Besides that point, for any Alicia fan (like myself), this is a must-have.

Free Music Review: Absolutely Incredible!!!!!!
Hit: 5 Stars

Words cannot describe how much I have fallen in love with this album! I just bought it yesterday and I have been listening to it non-stop! Alicia Keys truly deserves an ocean of respect and recognition for her determination to bring music into a new and respected age. I think she has a beautiful and enchanting voice and I love to her the interludes she talks about in between songs but what I think makes Alicia so much better than any of the other cookie cutter girl crap that exists in the mainstream today is that she puts her music above anyhting elese. She is addicted to piano! That right there in my opinion is what sets her above many other mainstream artists today. She is so dedicated and passionate to music and this album is living proof that Alicia is one artist who takes her music seriously. I fell in love with her music the second I heard "Fallin'" and I'm still very much in love with it. If you are contemplating buying this album, I stronlgy urge you to put your hesitation aside and pcik this up. I don't think you'll be disapointed! This is one of the most well-crafted Unplugged albums ever made. If you're still hesitant, listen to Alicia's previous two albums and imagine them ten times better! Never have I heard a young woman's dedication emitted so beautifully in all my life than on this album! Comparing Adam Levine to Alicia on "Wild Horses" is incredible. She sounds so much better! My absolute favourites are "Fallin'" "If I was your woman" and "If I ain't got you" (which is done so beautifully!)I really hope that you will buy this albumand listen to some seriously respectable music from an incredible talented and passionate young woman bound to only get better! She will knock your socks off! Alicia is definitely here to stay and I can't wait to hear her music grow even further. Please do yourself a favour for the day and pick this beautiful album up and hear something you've never heard before.

Free Music Review: Simply amazing
Hit: 5 Stars

Since the release of her first CD, I have been enamored with Alicia Keys. Her piano chops, her songwriting skills, her singing talent, everything is just simply amazing. And that's just on the CD. Bring it to the stage, and Alicia is the epitome of the words "performer" or "entertainer". She completely draws you in, and the setting is so intimate with all live instrumentation, enhanced by the 9 foot grand piano used during the concert. My favorite tracks are the 3 new ones (I count "Streets of New York" as one), and the remakes of "Fallin", "How Come You Don't Call Me", "If I Was Your Woman" and "Diary" (haunting, to say the least). I was not particularly fond of the Mos Def/Common/Damien Marley collab, merely because it seemed so out of context with the rest of the unplugged atmosphere. Also, Adam Levine tries hard, but unfortunately brings the Stones' "Wild Horses" down to a "filler" status. But the other highlights are ubiquitous, causing the listener to forget about the lowlights.

About the "Content-Protected" feature, these are almost always posted on Amazon.com. So when I see that a CD is content protected, and I have the knowledge that it will NOT be playable on my iPod, I simply purchase the album on the iTunes store. That way, you never have to worry about compatibility. And it all goes towards the final count for the RIAA.

That being said, I encourage you to purchase this CD - from whatever venue - because it is simply no short of breathtaking. I also recommend purchasing the accompanying DVD of the Unplugged concert, just because watching the show, feeling the energy and the vibe is so real when it's on video. The energy is almost tangible.

Free Music Review: Alicia Keys- The Total Package
Hit: 5 Stars

Give it up for Alicia Keys! This is one hell of a CD. I was wondering where the Unplugged CDs had went from MTV. The last one I really heard was the one from Jay-Z like 4 years ago. Now that it is back, they came back hard. Alicia Keys sparkles with her live performance put on CD. She is truly one of the best put together artists in the business. She has such beauty, she is musically a genius, very talented, and seems like a very good and genuine person. All of which show on the CD including the guest spots she has on her ranging from different genres. The CD has all the favorites on their in my view from Fallin' (if not my favorite of hers' which was her first hit as everyone knows, it's most def top two or three), Diary (right there with Fallin'), If I Ain't Got You, A Woman's Worth, How Come You Don't Call Me, and You Don't Know My Name as well as Karma. But it also has some new jewels and gems on there as well. Everyone who hears this album will love the new cuts Unbreakable and Stolen Moments. They really give the CD even more newness and breaths of freshness if you should ever get tired of the singles of the last few years. The track Wild Horses with Adam Levine (Maroon 5- I need to take a listen to their music some time) is a standout as well. Whoever has seen Alicia Keys live, I sort of envy you a little. If this CD is any indication of what she is like in concert, I hope to get the chance to see her and it one of these days. The music, the way she plays, her voice and the background players and singers all blend nicely and she sounds so lovely. The CD makes you feel like you're there in a way. Alicia Keys Unplugged, truly a great buy in '05!

Free Music Review: Doing it like NO one else can!
Hit: 5 Stars

MTV made a right move by having Alicia Keys relaunch the much anticipated rebirth of Unplugged. If her numerous performances at the 2005 Grammy's, 2005 VH1 Save the Music, and so on...are not convincing enough of her undeniable ability as a live perfomer, then you are obviously oblivious to her unparalled voice. Whether she is sitting down on the piano, or livening it up with a hype band, Alicia Keys manages to lure her audience in impressively. She doesn't have to dance, or do a choreographed number to get you interested. That factor alone makes it all the more reason why this live album is luring to an audience; she is simply doing what she does best...singing. Her impecable ability to write music that is not only relatable, but good to just listen to. Her masterpieces are always her ability to perform her music, and this is just a collection of masterpieces of R&B. A genius of her genre, Alicia will do for R&B what Marvin Gaye was able to...she is able to bring it back to life. Though the background singers did have a lot of intake in some of the performances, it only reflects off of Mariah's Unplugged when she dueted with Trey Lorenz, making a remarkable #1 hit together, and launching accessability to back up singers without controversy. Alicia is only expanding and will continue to exceed her role and title. She always outdoes her self, and respectably manages to keep it true to the music. Regardless of what you think of her, you cannot deny her. Love her, hate her, dont care for her...you still cannot disregard her. She brough it back to MUSIC with this one...and I love her for it!
