Free Music Review: Almost perfection...
Hit: 5 Stars

Some artists sound great in the studio, but when it comes to performing live, it's a different story. Alicia Keys is not one of these artists. She is the real deal, the full package. And we've known this since day one.

She strips down her songs, like "Karma" and "You Don't Know My Name", down to the roots on this album. The result is beautiful. The instrumentation is amazing and the backgorund vocalists are great too. And Alicia's keys and vocals sound maybe even better than they do on the record!

She remakes two songs, "Every Little Bit Hurts" and "Wild Horses", which is the only flaw on this album. The track is not good to begin with, and Alicia and Adam Levine from Maroon 5 do not blend well together. She also has two new songs on this collection. "Unbreakable", the lead single, has a wonderfully old school vibe and it is a fantastic song. And "Streets of New York." It was recorded as a studio version with Nas and Rakim, but wasn't included on her last album. Instead she did it live on Unplugged, and the resulting sound is much better. It will send chills up your spine and the lyrics are just beautiful.

This live performance creates such an intimate and close experience that you feel like you're right there. The stripped down versions of these songs are just as good, if not better as the studio versions and her voice is pure gold.

This album brings back memories of when you didn't had one hit wonders who couldn't sing. But instead, you would have artists that have staying power for years to come.

Free Music Review: I KNEW I COULD COUNT ON ALICIA.
Hit: 5 Stars

I watched the Special on MTV and she blew me away . I knew the album would be hot. I've been listening to the album ALL week on The Leak. I fell in love. The standout tracks/performances were "Streets of New York", which was cut from the TV special. Alicia goes "Love Jones" on us. She delivers a terrific and mood drifting perfromace of her poem "The Constant State of Going Nowhere" at the begining of the performance. This poem is featured in Tears For Water as well. Her rendidtion of "Every Little Bit Hurts" is also a good showstopper. She does a good job, of this Brenda Hollaway remake/Teena Marie. it sounds like church a lil bit. lol. Alicia Switches up on us with "Wild Horses". This is one hell of a performace because it blends soul with country beautifully. THE BEST TRACK/PERFROMANCE which was cut from the special was the brand new "Stolen Moments". This is a slow, dark, and midnight type of song. Alicia pulls u into her world of blues and darkness and delivers a spectacular piano solo as well. This is a jazz song and stays on repeat at night. "We can take flight, like a thief in the night, Stolen moments with you". so poetic. The song was based off her poem "stolen Moments" in Tears for Water. I also LOved her performance of "Fallin". Before u go, "thats so old", Alicia sings this song differently with the same lyrics and music, but a different style. Just Listen. And get pulled into an intimate night of PURE music. A+++

Free Music Review: It was like a concert in my bedroom
Hit: 5 Stars

Alicia Keys is one of the most talented artists in the business. In reality, she's probably my generation's Aretha Franklin. Her songs are very soulful and can get me up off my feet (and I'm going to tell you right now, that's a very hard thing to do). Her performances have the ability to knock anyone over, with such songs "Diary" and "Fallin". This is exactly why I bought this album. I, unfortunately, missed the MTV performance, and I decided that I should get the album to see what I missed. And I missed probably one of the best concerts ever. However, it is all packed into this little cd.

It is exactly like a concert wherever you are: in the car, bedroom, warehouse, wherever. The songs she chose to perfrom are some of the best songs she has ever done, and the guests (Adam Levine; Mos Def and Common) just helped make everything much more enjoyable than I thought possible. The best performances, such as Streets Of New York and Karma, live to make the album unforgettable, while all the other songs have you dancing in the meantime. The passion Alicia Keys uses in her voice transfers to the listener, as well as the lyrics. An example, "If I Was Your Woman" can break anyone's heart. Alicia Keys provides not just a song, but a performance.

This album is a must have for anyone with a passion for soul and/or Alicia Keys. Trust me, you'll be dancing the night away with this album playing on your stereo.

Free Music Review: 79 Minutes of Pure Talent
Hit: 5 Stars

Admittingly, being an Alicia Keys fan, it's hard to be a objective, but in all honestly, this Unplugged Album shows why Keys is one of the most critically acclaimed and popular artists of our time.

On this concert Keys sings her heart out, as shown on this disc during the soulful "How Come You Don't Call Me" and tear-jerking "If I Ain't Got You." She shows her great piano playing skills. She performs her own written music, some composed at the young age of 14 yet sound as good as songs written by people in their 30s "Butterflyz" and "Goodbye". She takes classic covers like "If I Was Your Woman" and "Every Little Bit Hurts" and makes them her own. She's versatile, able to range from jazz and funk "Karma/Heartburn" to slow, seductive, RnB "Diary" to upbeat Hip-Hop "Love it or Leave it Alone."

What's great about this concert is that it allows Keys to demonstrate all of her skills, and there are many of them. She can almost do everything that she sets her mind to, barring re-arranging some live songs. "A Woman's Worth" and "Fallin'" fall flat on this album, not because they're performed poorly, but because the arrangements are unnecessarily tampered with. However, the bonus unreleased songs "Unbreakable," "Streets of New York," and "Stolen Moments" more than make up for those minor missteps and overall make this album an extremely pleasing concert to both listen to and watch.

Free Music Review: PureTalent on her way to the top!!!!!
Hit: 5 Stars

This album displays alicia key's talent as an artist. The girl is only 24 years old. But she is fresh and new and doing something from her heart. Yeah, she was stretching the chords a bit too much but I am sure it was not done purposely. The problem I have with people is that as soon as an artist reaches a peak in their career where they are very popular the fans are basically looking for something wrong. Half of you can't sing or play piano and would not have the ability to do what she has done. The arrangements of the songs were like they were freshly done. She is a great performer, writer, producer, and a creative species that I hope we can see more of. So all you haters are full of it. Beyonce can see sing but she sells sex and she had that special look. Now are the new artist female artist are following her tracks but nothing is original. Beyonce will play out and better stick to acting. Once she gets married and have a child the shape is over. Not once does alicia sell sex or come out with seductive clothing.. She displays her heart, her talent, her emotion, and most all her ability to be different. Artist have to have the package and she does. With this, she will be around for a long time and has time to grow as an artist and remain interesting to the fans. So give her credit, please!!!!
