Free Music Notes for The Diary of Alicia KeysFree Music Review: alicia keys is one of this decade's better artists Hit: 5 Stars
In a music world full of britneys, ashantis and hilarys, thankfully there is alicia keys, who possesses a soulful talent in singing, songwriting and playing piano, and she is also blessed to be beautiful. Her sophomore album is far more superior to her first album, which in my opinion was overrated and full of old school samples. The 5 grammys alicia got for Songs in A Minor should have been saved for this fine new album from her. Her vocals are stronger, the musical arrangments have much more depth, the melodies stand out more and everything sounds timeless. Her voice reminds me a lot of young michael jackson in his motown days and the music has an old school vibe, but the kind of vibe that will sound fresh for decades to come. Karma, Heartburn, If I Was Your Woman, You Don't Know My Name, Diary, So Simple, Dragon Days are among the many masterpieces on this CD and I can't get enough of the CD. I have to admit it took me months to fully appreciate the CD in it's entirety, but that's because it's sounds so fresh unlike the other artists of today.
Free Music Review: She has done it again! Hit: 5 Stars
Don't get me wrong, I like Songs In A Minor but I really LOVE this one. Alicia has truly matured over the past two years and she has a lot more variety on here. She truly sings from her heart and soul and is very genuine about what she does. Not to mention she is the FIRE ON THOSE KEYS! MAN! I have never seen someone play like her since Roberta Flack! There are not many real artists out there like her and she is one that exemplifies what a REAL artist should be. Also, I have never seen someone take some classical music and modernize it and make it so enjoyable. I now LOVE some Beethoven and Chopin! I also love the way she takes old school tunes and put her own touch to it. She's not like any of these other artists who try and put some recycled beats to an old school tune no less try and SING them. PURE GENIOUS! Her production team is AWESOME. Alicia Keys is one artist that is here to stay forever and a day! HATERS... I suggest you keep on making noise because the more noise you make. THE MORE SHE WILL BE BLESSED!
Free Music Review: The Best R&B of 2003 Hit: 5 Stars
When I first saw Alicia Keys on Jay Leno back in 2001, I was blown away. I knew she was the real thing. It's rare that an artist of this magnitude comes along. Alicia captures the meaning of soul. The Diary of Alicia Keys is a welcome upgrade to SIAM. I didn't know what to expect, but I was pleasantly surprised. It's pure talent. No one does R&B better than Alicia. She truly understands the roots of the genre and incorporates that into her music. Alicia doesn't try to be anyone else but herself, and that's an endangered species in today's landscape. She's brave enough to do something different and take the heat for it. Years from now when they're talking about R&B gems, The Diary of Alicia Keys will not be forgotten. I buy music from all different genres, and I can honestly say that this is an impressive CD. This is a mature set coming from someone so young. I love R&B and anyone else who really does should grab The Diary of Alicia Keys and add it to their collection immediately.

I just Love Alicia music especially this albums the songs I found very appealing are of course Diary, You Don't Know my Name, Samsonite Man, If I was Your Woman/Walk By, Dragon Days, If I Ain't Got You, Heartburn. The albums just slowly grows and develops a story and reveals a Talent this just Simply The Very Best. I am looking for Alicia Keys to really turn up the heat and Blossom to a MAJOR SUPER STAR. Especaily with her Guest Appearsance on Usher Song "My Boo" the best is yet to come with this Extremely Talented Young Lady.
I Encourage All to Purchase this Young, Gifted and Talented Your Lady's Album. It will be experience you will remember and be totally wanting more to listen too in the Years to come.
Free Music Review: Original and striking Hit: 5 Stars
Alicia Keys has such an original and striking sound. Though her music certainly can be classified as stemming from R&B and soul, there is something about Keys that is so sophisticated, elegant, and mature beyond her years that I'm a fan of her hers even though I don't naturally gravitate towards these genres. My favorite songs on "The Diary of Alicia Keys" are
"You Don't Know My Name": vibrant and soaring; Keys' vocals are pretty magnificent on this one. When she calls her crush at the end of the song, you can't help but smile.
"If I Ain't Got You": such a unique sound; first heard this one on the radio, and have liked it ever since.
"Diary": I love the piano and the way the entire thing comes together for this one. Heartfelt and moving.
All of the songs on the album seem deeply personal and in one way or another comment on love and all the good and bad that comes with that. I would highly recommend buying this cd.
