After close to 6 months of hesitation, i FINALLY bought this album.... and i am SO HAPPY that i did.I remember being in Biloxi, Mississippi and in the navy for barely 3 - 4 months, and i remember hearing about this ALICIA KEYS person. WHen she first came out with "Fallin'" it was one of thos esongs i secrectly loved. Buying her debut was DEFINITELY on there, and still have to this day
Alicia DEFINITELY avoids the Sophmore curse that seems to follow COUNTLESS OTHERS. She SUPRASSES her debut by so much on this one.
The music is great and the songs full of feeling.
I really do not know how to describe this album because i can go on forever and ever on how good it is.

I must say I haven't heard it all, but I purchased it based on "You Don't Know My Name" and stuck in in my car stereo. I am jamming all the way to and from work with Keys in my dash...actually I don't have THAT far to drive to my place of employment. I spend most of the time listing to it minutes before I time in. I leave from home a bit early so's I can do that. What a voice! What a talent! While I haven't checked out the names of all the tunes, I am much impressed with that song which sounds like a tune from a 70's Pam Grier movie--I think it's produced by timbaland and I love the remake of "If I Were Your Woman". I saw her do Aretha justice with one of her songs on the BET tribute to Aretha. I wonder if a collection of classic soul and ol' skool covers by Ms Keys would be something she may consider in her career.Free Music Review: Best Album!

The Diary of Alicia Keys is by far one of the best CDs this year, if not this decade. You would think there would be only a couple good songs like the last CD (I only liked a few on that one), but each one was great. One after another could easily be a number one hit. However, the best song by far is "If I Aint Got U" It is my favorite song now, and has been ever since the day the CD was released...it probably will be for a looonnggg time. Once you listen to the song you'll see- you won't be able to stop listening to it. When the song hit #1 on 106nPark it felt like I won because I have loved that song for so long and finally other people realized how amazing it is. If you don't already have the CD, you really need to get it because you are missing out on one of the greatest R&B CDs of ALL TIME. no joke.Free Music Review: A Genuine Classic

Let's get real. In reality, there are classic R& B albums and Alicia Keys has made one and it is The Diary Of Alicia Keys. As a writer, producer, pianist, singer, and woman, this album exemplifies those components of her talent so. Songs that highlight the album are "Diary". It's a peaceful and low-vibed song. A lot of slow songs can irritate you, specifically if they are just overproduced and so production-forced. Another track "Wake Up" is very stylish. It's very Alicia and is a very great track for her period. And "Nobody Not Really", which has a great piano arrangement to it.
There's not an ounce of flaw to this album. Every song is to listen to. You don't have to skip a track nor waste your money buying it, because it's a great addition to your album collection.

Alicia Keys surpasses her successful debut album with this well done music project. In all aspects this album is way better than her debut. I like to make simple reviews so the best tracks in this album are the leading single "You Don't Know My Name" a truth that it's close to many people like I, "If I Ain't Got You" a tune so personal, so soulful, the best according to my taste, such a classic, "Karma" upbeat! such a great tune, "If I was Your Woman/Walk ON By" wow! this is one of the best cover ever done..., "Heartburn", great, "Diary" soulful, and "Samsonite Man" funny and true...this is a most have for any into soul music, such a great album, has more upbeat songs, more powerful lyrics and instant classic R&B songs.
