Free Music Notes for The Diary of Alicia KeysFree Music Review: TRU R&B ARTIST!! Hit: 5 Stars
When Alicia Keys came out..I was a alwayz a fan of her. Both of her albums are the greatest and if your a true R&B fan you shoud at least have 1 of her cdz!!
Harlem's Nocturne- Good interlude..Kinda reminds me of the Songs in a Minor album intro.. N/A
Karma- At first this song has a GREAT beat and the lyrics are hot but after it became it too popular it got boring...but i still give it da same score i thought it should be 9/10
Heartburn- The song is HOT!! The drums are a GREAT add-on to the song. Alicia was smart to compare heartburn to lovin someone..haha!! 9.5/10
If I Was Your Woman/Walk On By- At the first verse..I was like umm...this kinda sux but after a while I started really feeling her lyrics and beat. 8/10
You Don't Know My Name- When I first heard this I was like OMG this song is REALLY HOT!! Cuz it's a great a song and is has a storyline to it as well...9.5/10
If I Ain't Got You- This is probably the hottest song she has EVER made since Fallin'!!!! I don't even care how many times i listen to it..I still LOVE IT!!! 11/10!
Diary- This song is really good when your into slow songs. But if you listen to the whole Cd and suddenly go to a slow song its kinda bad but its still good. Tony Toni Tone was really awesome as well. 8/10
Dragon Days- A lot of people really like this song but I'm not into the beat. The lyrics are tight but the beat doesn't really match the meaning of her words. (The gutair is good though haha) 7.5/10
Wake Up- This song really stands out in the album. The vocals and beat really mix together and really speaks her mind on this one. 9/10
So Simple- At first I was like um..this doesn't sound good...but after 10 seconds I was like OMG this is tight!! haha! But, this song is really hot. It really shows her emtions in this one. 10/10
When You Really Love Someone- I don't know why but this song kinda reminds me a mix of Fallin' and A Woman's Worth. It even has the same concept too. HAHA! 8.5/10
Feeling U, Feeling Me- Interlude..Really Good N/A
Slow Down- This song os ok i guess..it reminds me of Dragon Days..The lyrics REALLY speak out but the slow beat just doesn't match. 7.5/10
Samsonite Man- O My Gosh this is one of the hottest songs in this album!! It really talks bout just kickin that damn man out!!! HAHA!! 10/10
Nobody Not Really- At first I was like what? this is an interlude? cuz i really thought this was a song for a sec lol probably the best interlude in the cd! N/A
Free Music Review: Melodic Keys Hit: 5 Stars
Melodic Keys:
A talented young woman with grace, style, originality, and an amazing voice, Alicia Keys is definitely one in a million. Unlike other young female R & B singers, Keys' music is filled with mature, soulful, and inspiring lyrics that invoke emotions like none other. Her lyrics encourage woman to be strong, beautiful, and to seek substance in relationships rather than superficial happiness. Besides lyrics, Keys' smooth piano skills sooth her listeners ears. Keys' level of musicality is evident in her first album.
Keys' first album, Songs in A Minor, is a mellow-smooth compilation with amazing songs such as; A Woman's Worth, Caged Bird, and Butterflyz. My favorite song of this album, Fallin, is about the foolish and paradoxical emotions that come with "falling" in love. Keys poetically inquires; "How do you give me so much pleasure/And cause me so much pain/Just when I think/I've taken more than would a fool/I start fallin' back in love with you." After listening to Keys' first album, people will be unable to resist purchasing her second one.
With more jazz and edge than her first album, The Diary of Alicia Keys, is certainly a good investment. In my opinion, even better than her first album, The Diary of Alicia Keys is truly a journal into the life, and secrets of this talented woman. The song that truly shines on this album is entitled, If I Ain't Got You. This song is about the insignificance of superficial objects, and the importance of being with one's true love. More of a narration, Keys expresses; "Some people want diamond rings/Some just want everything/But everything means nothing/If I ain't got you." Key's second album has certainly matched, and surpassed the success of her debut album.
This second album is for all ages, and genders. It contains no vulgar language that may be inappropriate for children, and it is inspiring for women and men in all types of situations. The smoothness of this album is appropriate for the car ride home, a romantic evening with a significant other, background music for studying, or for simply relaxing from a long, tiresome week. Whatever the occasion or situation may be, The Diary of Alicia Keys, is fitting.
So for all you guys out there who want a special gift for your lady, and for all you ladies who want some inspiration in your life, go out and get Alicia Keys: Songs in A Minor, and The Diary of Alicia Keys, and Keys' melodic melodies will give you "butterflyz".
Free Music Review: A real quality album from a quality star! Hit: 5 Stars
The Diary of Alicia Keys is easily a huge step up from Songs in A-Minor. With some of the best tracks of the year, Alicia has re-established herself as the r&b's top female, ahead of Beyonce, Ashanti, and the rest. All have immense talent, but Alicia has an extra something that separates her from the rest of the pack. Whether it be her rich, powerful voice, her seamless ability to run her fingers across the piano and sing in perfect synchronization, her abilty to captivate an audience with a single note, her heartfelt, moving lyrics, or just her beautiful face, Alicia has really shown that she is the best in the biz. This album is a real stunner, with its flowing, smooth r&b perfection. The first single You Don't Know My Name, co-written with Kanye West, is a solid smooth track, but it is Alicia's second hit, If I Ain't Got You, that brought her back to the top. One of the best r&b songs ever, Alicia's music, lyrics, and voice blend together perfectly, and became one of 2004's biggest. After the short, but breathtaking intro, comes Alicia's fourth single from Diary, Karma. One of the best tracks of the album, Karma is flawless and addictive from start to finish. Heartburn follows as it throws you back a few decades (I think!) and makes you wanna get up and dance! Another highlight is Alicia's third single of the album and the title track, Diary. A very relaxing, smooth r&b song that shows Alicia's mastery of her voice and the piano. While Dragon Days is leaving some people scratching their heads, I think it is a very interesting track and blends Alicia's soulful voice with some edgier music. Other highlights include Wake Up, the superb When You Really Love Someone, and Slow Down. My one complaint is that it doesn't have very many upbeat tracks and she doesn't sample more hip-hop material like Beyonce did. Beyonce's album starts with some hot hip-hop tracks and mellows out with ballads during the middle of the album and towards the end. I wish Alicia would have done the same and added a Naughty Girl or Baby Boy, but Diary is still a winning, hit formula. The album does have a few dry spots here and there, but all in all, a wonderfully crafted album that will satisfy any r&b fan! Very worthy of being one of 2004's biggest selling albums! Now I just hope she'll have a new album out soon or at least release one of those money-stealing re-releases (I'm desperate for a copy with the amazing Usher remix of If I Ain't Got You or one of my faves, My Boo)!
Free Music Review: The Diary of Alicia Keys Hit: 5 Stars
Alicia Keys' newest CD, The Diary of Alicia Keys, was truly mesmerizing. This CD has a beautiful blend of R&B, blues, and soul. Released on December 2, 2003, it sold over 610,000 copies in its first week. The CD was released on J-Records. It has had wonderful ratings, and immediately shot up to number one on the charts when first released.
Famed Alicia Keys has made an even better CD than before. She's released one other CD, Songs in a Minor, mostly famous for the hit single "Fallin."' Alicia Keys' style hasn't changed much, except that The Diary of Alicia Keys has a little more R&B. It's not much of a surprise, for it didn't change much, but she didn't really need changing.
I was truly speechless when I first listened to the CD. And the CD got even better the longer I listened to it. There were a lot of great songs, but I'll start with just mentioning my favorites.
I loved "Karma," "If I Ain't Got You," "Diary," and "Wake Up." "Karma" was an angry, yet soulful song with a wonderful violin addition. "If I Ain't Got You" was good just because it's so true to so many people. "Diary" is just fun to sing to and is relaxing. "Wake Up" was just beautiful and tranquil. Now for the songs I didn't like so much. I didn't particually like "Dragon Days" and "So Simple." "Dragon Days" just has odd, confusing lyrics. And "So Simple" was actually a good song, but there was a squeaky , annoying voice singing along. Alicia Keys is almost like female Usher.
My overall rating of The Diary of Alicia Keys by Alicia Keys is 5 stars. Anyone who likes soulful, relaxing, and calming music would love this CD. Everyone should watch out, because Alicia Keys is getting even better after everyone thought it wasn't possible.

Free Music Review: A real talent!! Hit: 5 Stars
Since her first album, i knew this girl has a LOT to offer. From her beutiful looks to her amazing songs, she can make people look at her and tell them 'hey ya'll listen to this..', then she opens her mouth to sing and plays the piano and you'll forget that you have loads of work to do the next day. 'The Diary of Alicia Keys' is very real.. it speaks for itself. Unlike other RnB artits, Ms.A.Keys can make heads turn w/o taking off her clothes. SHE's REAL, SHE's TRUE & sHE HAS TALENT...
However, not all albums are perfect (actually, I cant find one that is PERFECT) , I mean, they all have ups & downs, ryt?? ... Here is how i rate the TRACKS OF THE DIARY OF ALICIA KEYS:
1. Harlem's Nocturne -- 8/10 (at first, it's scared me..4 real)
2. Karma -- 9/10 (very, very true..crazy beats,,nice lyrics)
3. Heartburn -- 9.5/10 (whew! one heck of a song!!!very groovy!)
4. If I Was Your Woman/Walk On By -- 8/10 (great one.. but something in this song bores me...)
5. You Don't Know My Name -- 8/10 (kinda gets boring after some time... ahww!babybabybaby)
6. If I Aint Got You -- 10/10 (this should be 2004's best song, she wrote this all by herself!)
7. Diary -- 8/10 (relaxing.. by the way, Tony!Toni!Tone! must be considered background vocals in this track,,)
8. Dragon Days -- 5/10 (haha... dragons..but kinda cool though!)
9. Wake Up -- 7.5/10 (i like it.. eye opener..but the music's kinda boring)
10. So Simple -- 10/10 (i can't believe alicia keys actually sang this RnB song... VERY COOL!!.. it's like the female counterpart of the songs of kanye west or twista...
11. When You Really Love Someone -- 8/10 (now this song should be titled "Fallin' Part 2" with a touch of "A Woman's Worth" which are songs from her debut album.. good lyrics though)
12. Feeling U Feeling Me Intrlude -- 5/10 ( i cant feel it )
13. Slow Down -- 8/10 (nice verses and refrain, BAD chorus!!)
14. Samsonite Man -- 9/10 (very good... the type of song that you like to listen when you're sad BUT ITS NOT MELLOW..)
15. Nobody But Really -- 10/10 (it's like a song you like to hear when you're in a vacation at a peaceful beach or sumthing...)
ALL in ALL, this is a very GOOD ALBUM AND THE NOMINATION FOR 2004'S GRAMMYS IS APPROPRIATE!!... akeysrocks!
