If you've never had the pleasure to hear Alison Krauss sing, this is the cd set to buy. There is a reason so many other artists from all branches of music want to sing a duet with her. She has a beautiful flawless voice. And if your already an AKUS fan this is a must have for your collection.
AKUS is just as good live if not better than studio. I love bluegrass and you can't get better musicians combined as a group. Jerry Douglass is amazing on the dobro, Ron Block plays awesome guitar and banjo, Dan Tyminski does a lot of vocals, guitar and mandolin. Barry Bales is always steady on the bass.
Favorite songs include: Oh Atlanta!, Broadway, Ghost in This House and Take Me for Longing.

This live album by Alison Krauss and her band has left me in awe. Her vocals are angelic, crystal clear, emotional....all the awesome sound you expect from her! Her band plays their hearts out and offers excellent backing vocals and Dan Tyminski does his thing on A MAN OF CONSTANT SORROW....this cd contains all the huge hits ranging from LET ME TOUCH YOU FOR AWHILE, BABY, NOW THAT I'VE FOUND YOU, STAY, FORGET ABOUT IT, WHEN YOU SAY NOTHING AT ALL, and OH ATLANTA....this is a must have for any fan of this group and any new fans who want to experience the magic! My husband bought me this CD for Valentine's Day. He wasn't sure if I was an Alison Krauss fan, and to be honest I probably wouldn't have picked this up on my own, but I am really glad he got it for me. It is amazing. I have always respected Alison Krauss and her talent, and I have her "Baby, Now That I've Found You" album from the mid-90's. I guess being that I bought that during my "crazy" college years I didn't take to enjoying it like I did this one now. It is an incredible live performance -- there are instrumentals, other musicians pick up the vocals on a few tracks, and the musicians are all such outstanding performers. You will enjoy this album!Free Music Review: too good to be true!

This the finest live double album of all time, better than the Allman bros Fillmore album. Every time I listen, I am so over come by the sheer beauty of it, I get tears down my cheeks. Stevie Nicks, eat your heart out, THIS, is the voice of an angel. The band, what can I say that already has been said, the best. There is none better in this world than Jerry Douglas, none. The crowd, I have no problem with them, I envy them, listen in the pauses in the softer songs, not a sound, they are taking in all these wonderful sounds and then exploding in joy when they are over, lucky people. I must confess I've heard of Alison Kraus but never heard her music for more than a few minutes. I'd come across her on Austin City Limits while channel surfing and that's been the extent of it. Along came the Second Gulf War. While stationed here in Iraq the Post Exchange makes available cds. I found myself starved for some new music, hence my purchase of Alison Kraus. What a great find!
I've enjoyed this cd for the last two weeks. Both her voice and the excellence of the accompanying musicians are excellent as are the song choices. She's certainly won another fan and when I return stateside I'll track down her earlier works.
