Free Music Review: Wonderful! back to her bluegrass & gospel roots.
Hit: 5 Stars

I first heard Alison Krauss doing a solo playing interview on Fordham's WFUV radio. Instantly loved her work and my wife loved the CD I bought and all we've found since. Her best ever was the double album Alison Krauss Live. Since then she's gone through a period of trying to slick up her image and go more mainstream with her music. Her strength is bluegrass and gospel where she is the sweetest and most compelling performer I've ever heard. She was the backbone to the O Brother Where Art Thou sound track and we saw her at Carnegie Hall in a terrific recreation of the O Brother soundtrack with all the original performers. This album is a wonderful return. Highly recommended.

Free Music Review: A Must Have for any Alison Krauss Fan !!!
Hit: 5 Stars

Alison Kraus has a voice of an Angel. There is not a better, more pure voice in the music business. This CD is one of her best collections to date. With a collection of new...the Best one being "Simple Love", movie songs and misc songs from other CDs...this is a true gem. Her new song getting radio play-"Missing You" is also great. I know people are not happy with it, but she is trying to expand her fan base and with a song getting mainstream attention, that could not hurt. The ONLY song missing on this great CD is from the Twister soundtrack "Moments Like This." This is truely a great song that would have make this CD AMAZING.

Free Music Review: This Fan Approves - Highly
Hit: 5 Stars

"Jacob's Dream" made me weep with both its beauty and its sentiment, when I heard it. The spare and perfect instrumentation behind the vulnerable voice of Allison punctuated with the penetrating soprano of the refrains was chilling. I was moved, and that is worth more than the price of admission on that one song alone, but there is much more. My high recommendation.

Sure, Union Station wasn't there in toto, but often we see the members names here, plus the other muscians are far from chopped liver. Krauss can have her pick from Nashville where the very best come to play, and the production shows it.

Free Music Review: Great singer, great selection of songs
Hit: 5 Stars

This record is a great set of songs sung beautifully by the wonderful singer Alison Krauss. I discovered Alison Krauss when I bought last year's release "Raising Sand", the album of duets with Led Zeppelin's lead singer Robert Plant. The purity and tone of Alison's voice on that record made me curious to hear her other work and this is a great example. She plays a mean fiddle too! I actually prefer this record to Raising Sand. Sorry Robert! There are some fine songs and a couple of old standards, and even a duet with James Taylor. The musicianship on this record is exemplary also. Terrific.

Free Music Review: NOT one bad song in this CD, beautiful, haunting, soothing
Hit: 5 Stars

Previous reviews said it for me, all that were positive, that is, which were most of them. If you love Alison, then get this cd. Songs from the past, which do not bore, or seem too redundant; this collection is probably one of the best I've ordered in a long time. It will offer you peace, comfort, some sadness too. let the picture paint itself, for this one.. its the best and more descript reviews will share this with you. Absolutely lovely.. hauntingly beautiful. Light a candle, and kick back to give yourself some peaceful 'down time' to take your cares away and to, also inspire your soul.
