Free Music Notes for A Hundred Miles or More: A CollectionFree Music Review: Amazing Grace-I Love You Alison Krauss Hit: 5 Stars
This is such a great collection of songs sung by Alison Krauss and some with her friends. Many of these songs are ballads with sad stories but Alison's voice rings clear as you hear her vocal range ring pure as mountain springs and you just feel her presence in the room through a good stereo system. I just cannot get enough of this clear clean sound as it is masterfully reproduced on this compact disc. Very Highly Recommended by The TimeKeeper.
Free Music Review: Luscious! Hit: 5 Stars
This album is just luscious from the first track to the last. I cannot get the songs out of my head and I cannot take the disc out of the player. The engineering is just as luscious as the music. Warm, rich and soulful. "Get me through December" is beautiful and a favorite. BTW I read a review that stated that it was too slow. That's fine. This album is for us that dont like a bunch of "hot damn, give it a slam" noise.
Free Music Review: Anther AK Classic Hit: 5 Stars
Like all of Allison's CD's, I buy them on faith (since I can never hear any of her awesome music on today's crummy radio & video stations) and once again get rewarded with another 5 Star CD. She's not capable of turning out an inferior product. As an FYI, if you're looking for a mix of Allison and Union Station, I can tell you this CD is skewed way toward Allision, with more emphasis on her vocals than on her fiddle.
Free Music Review: Beautiful songs Hit: 5 Stars
Except for the final song on this CD, the songs on this CD are gorgeous and show the versatility of Allison Krauss's voice and musicality. Without repeating comments from others, the song "Get Me Through December" is one of the most beautiful, moving songs I've ever heard, performed exquisitely by Ms. Krauss, Natalie McMaster and the other musicians on the track. It is worth the price of this recording.
Free Music Review: Oh, WOW!! Hit: 5 Stars
Alison's voice just keeps getting better and better, as does her music! "Whiskey Lullaby" is one of my favorites; my wife and I once listened to it over and over and over again on a 10 hour trip. "Jacob's Dream" is heart-rending. But my absolute favorite is "Simple Love;" the music and the lyrics are simply phenomenal, by itself worth the price of the album! 5 stars is not enough for this song!
