Free Music Notes for A Hundred Miles or More: A CollectionFree Music Review: Lovely Alison Kraus! Hit: 4 StarsI waited a while for the CD, but when it arrived it was worth the wait. A lovely collection of songs, I bought both this CD and Alison's collaboration with Robert Plant - both very different. This CD has a traditional Alison Kraus style and is a lovely collection. Some really beautifully songs, the lyrics are touching and the vocals stunning!
Free Music Review: Love her but tired of being down Hit: 3 StarsI love Allison Krauss and own every one of her albums. However, I cannot bring myself to buy this one after hearing the sample songs. I am tired of being depressed and mourning past losses. Where are the songs that celebrate the (albeit, few) joys of life? I will buy Ron Block's music instead this time. I miss her days of gospel and (at least some) uplifting songs.
Free Music Review: All Allison Krauss Hit: 5 StarsThis is a great AK album. She really puts the emotion into these songs. Some are almost enchanted. I agree with those that say she has the voice of an angel, and this project really shows it.
Free Music Review: Blew me away Hit: 5 StarsAlison Krauss is one of my all time favorite vocalists, that being said, I'm no "everything she does, I go crazy over" person. I loved "So Long, So Wrong" but was really disappointed with "Alison Krauss & Union Station Live." This CD is so good, beautiful vocals and fantastic instrumentals.
Free Music Review: 100 Miles or More Collection from Alison Krauss Hit: 5 StarsMy favorite singer, this is such a haunting melodic series of songs. Most are sad and introspective, make you feel about loss and family. As a longtime fan of her with AKUS I was surprised at the departure from the more traditional bluegrass, however, it is absolutely lovely to listen to. The duets are outstanding. Highly recommend this CD.
