Free Music Notes for A Hundred Miles or More: A CollectionFree Music Review: Sheer Delight Hit: 5 Stars
Alison Krauss has the voice of an angel and "A Hundred Miles or More:A Collection" just proves that once again. I never tire of listening to Alison, her new album, and her duets, which are superb and add a wonderful variety. I do not know of many female singers who can shine while singing a duet and, at the same time, allow their partner to shine as well. She does it to perfection.
Free Music Review: Perfect; but for a melancholy mood. Hit: 5 Stars
This isn't for your upbeat, dancing mood; but it is beautiful and satisfying in its own right. Listen to it a few times before making a judgment. I love Alison's pure voice and the simple, heartfelt songs she chooses. The only song that I don't care for is the "Sawing on the Strings", as it doesn't fit the rest of the mood of this more melancholy, yet lovely collection.
Free Music Review: A Hundred Miles or More Hit: 5 Stars
Alison's CD "A Hundred Miles or More" is excellent! Every song has merit. Her voice is one of the most enchanting soprano voices I have ever heard. Alison sings to one's heart & soul. My favorite songs are: Jacob's Dream; Down to the River to Pray; The Scarlet Tide; Whiskey Lullaby; & Get Me Through December. This is a must buy CD for any Alison Krauss fans.
Free Music Review: 100 Miles or More Collection from Alison Krauss Hit: 5 Stars
My favorite singer, this is such a haunting melodic series of songs. Most are sad and introspective, make you feel about loss and family. As a longtime fan of her with AKUS I was surprised at the departure from the more traditional bluegrass, however, it is absolutely lovely to listen to. The duets are outstanding. Highly recommend this CD.
Free Music Review: Guess I like anything that Alison Krauss sings Hit: 5 Stars
I'm not the music critic that many others are - like art, I just "know what I like". And I like Alison Krauss. This album is great as far as I'm concerned. The number from "Oh Brother, Where Art Thou?" is very good, and I liked the duets. Alison has a wonderful voice - maybe she could sing the telephone directory and I'd still listen.
